If this isn't a sign the Cubs are dominating the NL and don't feel threatened. The Cubs just sent Adam Warren to AAA to "stretch" him into a sixth starter to give more rest for the 5 man rotation. The Cubs are one of the very few teams to have only used 5 starter this season. Getting them ready for October. This is exactly why Dusty Baker sucked as a manager and still does. He ruined the careers of Kerry Wood and Mark Prior by routinely letting them throw 120+ pitches. Fucking dip shit is going to do the same to the Nationals. I say screw em. Scherzer and Strassburg are finished if he keeps letting them throw 130 pitches every time out. He let Gio Gonzalez throw 120 against the Cubs last week, He was never a great manager. Had some very good teams (Giants, Cubs) and never won anything with any of them.

On Tuesday, the Cubs optioned Warren to Triple-A Iowa, where he was expected to make two starts before rejoining the big league team for one start before the break. The Cubs are in a stretch of 24 straight games before the All-Star Game presented by MasterCard, which will be played July 12 in San Diego.
"This stretch we're on now, with starters not getting any kind of a blow, we thought it was the most optimum moment to attempt to do something like this, so we are," Cubs manager Joe Maddon said. "[Warren] is going to definitely start pre-break, and I don't know what will happen post-break. He was very receptive."

Just a 24 no day off stretch. Don't over think it.

Stoked about this:

The Cubs also placed left-handed reliever Clayton Richard on the 15-day disabled list with a blister on his left middle finger. To fill the two spots in the bullpen, the Cubs recalled right-hander Spencer Patton and selected the contract of lefty Gerardo Concepcion from Iowa.
Richard, 32, has given up two earned runs over 3 1/3 innings in his last six games, and appeared in 22 games this season. He also has a problem with the nail on his left middle finger, so the time off will help heal that.
"His finger is pretty nasty looking, so it'll be good to give him a break," Maddon said.
Concepcion, 24, signed a five-year Major League deal with the Cubs prior to the 2012 season and has yet to appear in a big league game. He was 2-0 with a 1.29 ERA in 22 relief appearances this year at Double-A Tennessee and Iowa.
Patton, 28, had a 1.04 ERA in 26 relief appearances with Iowa, and walked nine while striking out 42 over 26 innings. He broke into the big leagues with the Rangers in 2014.

That was discussed when he was acquired. The reason he was a good pickup. Not just a middle reliever.

Good value.

Funny, they finally get the guy up after signing him for 5 years and he a FA after the year..

So, they get about 4 months of him if he sticks out of a 5 yr deal...

So you are saying an athlete should be physically injured because he doesn't perform well all the time? You seem to type with anger a lot.

Its cool the only person Ive ever gone off on is Omletteman or whatever his name is. He attacked me and insulted me because I questioned whether he was a real Cubs fan. I will stick up for myself when someone calls me a moron and tells me to go **** myself. Wouldn't you do the same? Now the guy follows my every post and has some obnoxious and hebetudinous remark about everything I say. But he doesn't bother me. I kind of enjoy messing with his weak mind.

But Im not angry at all. Im opinionated but not angry. There's a huge difference. I don't make personal insults because that's a sign of intellectual weakness.

Oh and I also talked shit to the annoying Sox fan because he's in the wrong place. Why would a Sox fan come to a Cubs forum except to sew discontent and talk trash? He was also a weak minded fool. I don't suffer fools well.
