Cubs sign OFs Juan Perez & Kelly Dugan to Minor League Deals

Perez looks like your typically little power, decent speed CF type. In the minors he was basically a 10 HR 20 SB guy with a .310ish-.320 OBP. He's clearly minor league depth here.

Kelly Dugan is a bit more interesting. He was a 2nd round pick for the phillies in 2009 and is only 25. Prior to last season he was #10 on fangraphs top prospect list for the phillies although their farm system wasn't known to be spectacular. Here's what fangraphs had to say

Dugan went in the 2nd round out of high school in 2009 but isn’t even the most notable baseball alum from Southern California’s Notre Dame High School, with Giancarlo Stanton eclipsing him in that regard. Dugan is a 6’3/195, athletic lefty bat with classic right field tools that he’s slowly grown into: a smooth swing with solid average raw power, average speed and an above average arm. He’s just growing into his frame on the field but has missed a lot of developmental time with various injuries, including a broken bone in his foot late in 2014. Dugan showed the ability to make offensive adjustments this year, making more contact in exchange for game power. He looks like a sure big leaguer, but it’s unclear if he’ll have enough offensive impact to be an everyday player.

Dugan didn't really hit AAA in 2015 which is presumably why he was available. That said, he hit .315/.391/.393 in AA last year and .296/.383/.435 the year prior though the power has disappeared the past two years.
