Nice start to the series. Steele looked great. Hopefully they can pull out another series against a tough team.
Every start, he reminds me more and more of Lester.

I keep thinking Steele has done well for a short while, and wonder how long he can keep it going. Then I realize he has the 2nd best ERA in all of baseball since last June. That's becoming a large sample size. Still needs to keep showing it, of course, but it's not a fluke.

What's gotten into Heyward? 3 HRs and just hit one 400+ for an out.

He has one single on the season to go with those three HRs, btw.

The guy throws exactly 2 strikes and strikes out both the 3 and 4 hitters....back to the HR cuts I guess. sad

I know it's early and all that but is this team just going to hover around .500 all year?

Tough loss last night. Another game with questionable in-game decisons from Ross. Ross has largely been given a pass the last several years because the team was expected to be bad and he is well liked by fans and the media. But expectations are different this season. Also, you don't want to overact, but is it too soon to question if Fulmer is really a closer? Andrew Chafin would have looked good in the 9th. He was there for the cubs to grab in the offseason but for whatever reason they wouldn't pay.

Closer will be a sore spot all season, and likely a big reason why they will fall just short of the playoffs

Might as well give alzolay or Thompson a shot at closer. Idk whether it's better to have them coming in every few days to lock down a couple innings or a closer that's trustworthy

Its one game. He allowed a walk off single. The Cubs bullpen was a question mark coming in. Ross did nothing wrong. Also, there is no expectations. The only expectations is to be a solid squad to compete for the playoffs while the young one are groomed in the minors. This team is doing exactly that.

The loss on Saturday sucked the way t went down and the fact the Cubs allowed only 2 and lost.

But they just went to LA and allowed 2 in each game and took two W's. That was a good series against a very good team.

I think Thompson closes that game out. He was on one. Thought Ross should have stuck with him
