After 20 straight games, the Cubs finally have an off day. But, do the Cubs want it? I don't think they do because they finally played baseball and swept the lonely Nats. I know it's only the Nats but positive results came from the series. It would be nice for the Cubs to keep the winning up heading into Cinncinatti for a 3 game set and Mike Quade to continue his unbeaten streak as the Cubs manager. He's currently 3-0 as Cubs manager.
Pitching matchups:
Friday: Tom Gorzelanny (7-7, 3.70era) vs. Johnny Cueto (11-4, 3.62era) 6:10ct, on WGN
Saturday: Randy Wells (5-12, 4.56era) vs. Bronson Arroyo (14-7, 3.82era) 6:10ct, on CSN
Sunday: Casey Coleman (1-1, 5.68era) vs. Edinson Volquez (3-2, 6.17era) 12:10ct, on WGN
Series Notes:
I don't have any as of right now but if I come across some, I will post it.
*Carlos Silva will rehab for Peoria on Friday. He will start. If everything goes well, he will have 1 more rehab start and then return to the Cubs.
