I know a ton of people are sick and tired of hearing about Dwight, but the fact of the matter is where he ends affects the Bulls

Orlando Magic superstar Dwight Howard has requested a trade to the New Jersey Nets, league sources told Yahoo! Sports on Saturday.

-------------------------

Los Angeles had long been a preferred choice of Howard’s, but sources say that several factors have pushed him toward the Nets over the Lakers. Howard has a strong relationship with Deron Williams, and has also resisted following the same career path as Shaquille O’Neal, who left the Magic for the Lakers two decades ago.

The Lakers, meanwhile, will now focus on trying to outduel the New Jersey Nets in trade talks for Dwight Howard. The Orlando Magic center publicly confirmed Saturday that he has asked to be traded, with the Nets, Lakers and Mavs on his wish list. Sources told ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard that the Magic will ask for both Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol for Howard; ESPN.com reported last week that the Nets are prepared to send center Brook Lopez and two future first-round picks to the Magic as well as offer to take back the cap-clogging contract of Hedo Turkoglu to facilitate the deal.

Does the Nets deal even hold a candle to the Lakers deal??? I dont think so! He could just refuse to sign an extension with LA if dealt

According to Kevin Ding from ocregister.com:

The Lakers didn’t want a disgruntled Odom at his $8.9 million salary and believe they can acquire a new third big man to play behind Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol. That is the challenge for Mitch Kupchak and Jim Buss on the front-burner, while still simmering is their desire to have Dwight Howard from Orlando.

I’m told the Lakers will not be trading Bynum and Gasol for Howard.

Dwight doesnt want to share the spotlight with Rose. Screw him. Winning championships isnt his MO and the Nets are probably going to pay him a buttload of money under the table in some kind of off-shore account in Russia.

I have not seen any reports other than that twitter feed elluding to the fact that the deal is done.

If Howard does not want to come to Chicago that is one thing and there is not a lot he can do about it.

But I would expect the Bulls to make the Magic the best offer.

I also think Rose could convince him that they can play together and both be a big deal. Rose is not the spotlight hog that Kobe is.

Rose has made it clear that he is not recruiting anyone. If they want to come here fine but hes not begging anyone

Then he needs to get off his high horse. This team is good, but they can always gett better.

But rose is young. He may have to have a few seasons like last year to realize he needs another player of his caliber in order to really compete for a title.

There is a difference between begging and convincing.

Howard can be convinced that Chicago has enough love and attention for 2 basketball players.

From DROSE
where if it's not coming from the front office or anything, you're not going to hear me say anything about recruiting anyone. I think the city speaks for itself. It's a great marketing place like I said. If you want to come here, do whatever you want to do here, you can. Opportunities are here. The front office is great. Our fans are the best in the world, and I think Chicago just speaks for itself, especially with basketball."

WTF???

This guys is a nut case

@MagicInsider: Possibly stunning development. Dwight Howard softens stance. "This is place I want to be but some things have to change"

There's also a fine line between begging and convincing. The FO is supposed to do the recruiting. Derrick Rose is paid to play basketball, not run around "convincing" others to play with him. He needs to worry about the guys he's playing with, not the ones he's not.

This X1000

Why do you think the team plays so hard? They feel like their leader appreciates what they do and wants them there, and will go to battle for them.

Would you want to give it your all if your captain was out their recruiting guys to take your place? Hell no
