Im so excited for this draft! Poles has 3 opportunities in the top 45 to draft non-linemen!
Off the ball linebackers, SS's, special teams players....he has a lot of options!

Even after the SB, I still think it’ll be QB top 2, but there might be a real early run on rush ends and DT. The first OL might not go until 4 or 5!

I always like finally getting big boards from respected names.
  • I like Jalon Walker and semi-surprised to see him that high. I kind of wonder how he fits... is he a 3-4 OLB... 4-3 OLB? Or 4-3 edge? Not hat the Bears would get him anyway.
  • Interesting that he listed Zabel at C... I know he's been discussed as a guy to move to G or C, but still interesting.
  • Surprised how low Scourton and Umanmielen are.

Don't worry Kevin Warren has full confidence that Ryan Poles can grow into the GM he thinks he can be.

My predictions for the bears picks-

1-10: Bears fans will still be citing their college stats or high school recruiting rank to defend their NFL play after their third year in the league.

2-40: Come on, everyone knows this position takes [current year of contract + 1] years to fully develop.

2-42: Good but not great player at a position that isnt as important as it was in the 1980s.

3-74: Overheard in the Bears draft room: "Shit, I didn't see the 'Southern' in front of 'Georgia.'" Never makes a game day roster; cut in 2027.

Everyone else is a gem or steal.

Shemar Stewart seems high, no? Another Tyree Wilson?

Membou seems high as ****.

The guy wasnt even in bruglers top 50 during his last list, now he's #8.

For those that want a tackle he's got better feet than any of the other top 3 names at OT(Simmons,Campbell,Banks)

I've seen him listed high in 1 or 2 other places in the last week or so. I think one mock had him going 11 to SF.
I believe we are starting to enter that period where some of the mock draft guys are going to start with the "My league sources are saying."

The usual "This is my top 50 but my mock is what I'm hearing from around the league."

he's 6'3"... so likely not gonna be moved to OG

Great, it's a draft of midgets and T-Rex's along the offensive line and the one monster OT is waiting for medicals after having his knee ripped off during a freak wood-chipper accident.

EDIT:

Do you know if that is a recently confirmed measurement?
I may be thinking of the wrong person, but I remember one of the pods I was listening to, and they were talking about one or two "short" guys maybe really being 6'4.5" and just having to wait for the combine for an accurate measurement.

Walter Nolen should be in the top 15. Abdul Carter is the best player in this class.

Carter dominated all season and then hit another level and took over in the college playoffs. Carters play almost got Penn State over the hump with Ohio State and very well could've with a better in game HC and a QB that doesn't make an unnecessary throw across his body to a covered receiver.

There is no CB on this planet that is going to utterly take over games for 4 straight quarters in a playoff situation in a manner that Carter displayed.

Even for a DE to be able to take over in multiple playoff games is becoming a rare feat in this era.

Carter is the next great up and coming pass rusher in the NFL. I would take him over anyone in this class with that top pick.

If he's 6'3 and has 34 inch arms does it really matter?

The reason height "usually" matters is because it goes in unison with arm length.

His height is below from the senior bowl:

  • Mizzou OL Armand Membou- 6036v, 332v, 3400 arm

And travis hunter was the best player in CFB, so whats your point?

He's #2, which seems fair considering Travis Hunter is top 3 at two positions in this draft.
