I have zero problems with JR or any other analyst being honest and giving their true opinions rather than cliches. The problem with JR is that he'd like people to think he's all refreshing and vanguard in this manner when in fact he's full of shit and his analysis at any given moment or whimsy is fueled in fact not by critical analysis but rather emotional baggage bs he's bringing to the table. As in he gladly and seemingly under the guise accepts his Heritage Night---a sign that perhaps hatchets are being buried between him and the Hawks especially when coupled with the fact that he had expressed the previous season that he wouldn't mind be a Hawks Ambassador too. You think he's come to peace (or starting to) with shit then during the Playoffs he says during the WCF that if pressured he has to pick SJ for sentimental reasons which is fine, that's his opinion but then prefaces that shit with crap like their organization deserves it and their fans deserve it because they treated him so well. That implies that Chicago fans ran him out of town and did something other than adore his Hawks contributions and what a character he was.
Okay, whatever but THEN in the SCF he turns around and says the SAME EXACT crap about PHI! Once again saying their organization and fans deserved it, that they treated him so well. WTF is that? Why would he say and do this to Chicago fans when he knows how much they suffered? And indeed if he had any positive vestigial feelings and emotions about the club wouldn't he want them to at least also get the Cup after almost a half a century? So unnecessary. He's NOWHERE NEAR having learned how to get past shit emotionally which doesn't therefore bring about "truthful" analysis IMO but rather patently emotional responses. Proof? His teary reaction to "the Haws man" at the end of Game 6. Oh, so I guess he does still have deep feelings for the organization and can be happy they won because it would have seemed to me prior to that he would be torn up about PHI and their fans not getting what they deserve. Please, his awesome on-ice talents aside JR is a needy media and fame whore.[/quote]
Exactly, bookjones. JR says shit to say shit. He doesn't believe half of it. I still don't even buy that he cried last year because he was touched that the Hawks had won the Cup; he was simply upset that he wasn't the savior to lead the Hawks to the promised land, that he wasn't part of the parade.
He is a media whore, nothing more, nothing less. And I'm not going to use the acronym -- dude needs to shut the **** up.
Okay, gotta get going to catch our plane to Chicago so we can see the banner raised on Saturday. In so many ways it seems like they won the Cup just yesterday. Can't wait to experience this, Lord and USAirways willing.
