Deng could return for Heat game - NBA - Yahoo! Sports

Chicago Bulls forward Luol Deng, sidelined with torn ligaments in his left wrist, will return to the lineup within a week, a source close to him told Yahoo! Sports.
Deng is expected to play against conference rival Miami on Sunday, the source said.

The Chicago Tribune reported that Deng has been telling teammates he plans to play Sunday, but the organization has been more cautious about his outlook. Doctors told Deng he ultimately needs surgery on his left wrist – which isn’t his shooting hand – and that it could sideline him for three to four months.
Deng said Tuesday in Chicago that he’s determined to play his part in chasing a championship with the Bulls. Also, the chance to represent Great Britain at the Summer Olympics in London is an important opportunity for him.
Deng is vital to the Bulls, who have the NBA’s best record at 16-3. After having a breakout season a year ago – when many believed he should’ve been chosen to the All-Star team – Deng has again emerged as a cornerstone to the Bulls’ championship chances. He’s averaging 15.9 points and 7.5 rebounds this season.

I don't think he Deng should rush back.
Its not worth him injuring himself any further.
We need him for the playoffs..

Its not like Sundays game is the conferance finals.

I sure as hell hope he doesnt play. They just lost to the Bucks the other night. They barely beat one of the worst teams in the league tonight. If we get Taj back, it should be a good battle.

Love Thibs as our boach but i swear him pushing these guys so hard in meaningless games is sickening.

Luol should try to play.If he manage to play then it will be OK.I am not afraid of him.He knows if he can handle it or not.If he can't perform well he will understand that he needs a surgery and go for it.We can lose him for 2 months but we can't lose him for the playoffs. If he plays without surgery and struggling for some weeks and then he do the surgery it may cost us.If surgery is needed then he should do it as soon as possible and not wasting time.

Luol needs to sit long enough for the pain to be tolerable. I understand his competitive spirit wants to play the team that eliminated he and his teammates. That wrist is not going to be ready for any kind of contact on Sunday. I really hope he just sit out for a little longer.

Deng should definitely sit for awhile. 2 weeks at least. Rest Taj till healthy. And give Rose and Watson random days off as well. The bulls not at 100% come playoffs equals an early exit. Any Bulls team that plays on any night gives 110% and can beat 80% of the teams no matter who they have on the floor.

He isn't going to improve by resting he is only sitting to reduce swelling. If he wanted to heal he would have opted for surgery right away.

I'd personally like to see Deng sit until the All Star game, and then come back. Hell, if need be, he can get a shot in it before every game. Whatever it takes for him to play at a high level!

I say you sit Luol. Last thing we need to do is for sure lose him for the rest of the season and the playoffs. Play it safe. If we lose,we lose.

If you play Luol Deng, test him for limited minutes just to see if he can play like that. Then, sit him out longer.

But it would only take limited seconds for Lebron to purposely slap Deng in his wrist.
Lebron knows the Bulls ar the biggest threat to him getting out the East and a more serious Deng injury could devistate our season.

It's not easy to snap a wrist. If it was an elbow, that would be different.
