If we also get Cleveland's 1st round draft pick, sure.

I don't think that Cavs will throw in a 1st with this draft coming up. You never know though but 2nd rounder would be nice. We could package some picks to move up if the Bobcats keep playing decent.

This 100%.

It will be a beautiful thing if we can get rid of Deng, while also getting a rookie contract (Waiter) & 2014 1st round pick instead of him walking away in free agency for nothing.

We can have a "Waiter" and a "Butler" on our team at the same time  .

This is dumb Waiters is just a chucker that doesn't play D and is a poor locker room player. That being said if GarPax can grab a 1st rounder out of it as well I say go for it. 2nd round picks are dumb anyways.

For a young team lacking leadership, Deng is better than anything you're going to get in a middle to low first round pick. Cleveland has enough knuckleheads, they need an experienced vet.

The same thing can be said for Noah. Expiring contracts and low first rounder for both would make the front office look brilliant.

The first sentence of the story should be shouting at you. What kind of player would you be getting when a team wants to trade a second year player? As cheap as a draft pick can be and they are already fed up with him? Mister over enunciation Chris Broussard says they talked to the Bulls, yeah and the Bulls said No F'n way find another chump to take your discards.

What evidence are you basing this on? From what I read, there are two sides to this story. It seems to me like Waiters has been under-utilized in Cleveland due to internal conflicts. There is no leadership in that locker room because it's a very young team. Many factors involved in this. Obviously a change of scenery would do him and Irving some good. But we don't know enough about that locker room to make any valid opinions about Waiters or any other player on that team.

I'd say do it only because Deng is basically worthless to us now that D Rose is out. Waiters still has a lot of potential, he just plays erratic. We all busted/ripped Monta Ellis and he's been playing exceptional in Dallas. Environment and coaching plays a huge part in how a player plays/develops. Portland gave away Jermaine O'Neal because they thought he was straight ass and then he became a perennial all-star with the Pacers. On top of that he's still on a rookie deal so I see it as a win win for both teams.

You do it...and if you get a first round pick...it won't be for this year's draft. What are you holding Deng for? You get a player with good potential back. Its almost like getting a draft pick in return anyways...
