So basically they lied to us about his injury again.

Looking at the bigger picture beyond this season, this obviously tanks his trade value again. :(

I think you have to ask why Vinny had Deng in the top 10 in the NBA for minutes before his injury. Maybe it didn't contribute to the injury, who knows. But Deng was pretty ineffective in the second games of back to backs, and it left no minutes for Johnson to develop. So it seems like a stupid thing to do all around. I know I'm not the only one who had been saying for a while that Deng needed his minutes cut back.

I'm was surprised he played in so many games already. His bones are made out of whiffle. Can you imagine what this guy will be like when he hits 28. It's a shame, but it's expected. Shame on the Bulls for trading their only adequate backup.

Shame on the Bulls? For trading who? Salmons? You gotta be joking...

It's amazing how often this guys gets injured.

But like I've said on my podcast, he's the Bulls' Mike Brown or Kerry Wood. At this point you almost expect him to go down with an injury. He's just one of those guys unfortunately.

On the plus side, the Trib says Noah and Rose are back. Let's just hope they can play with any kind of decency.

The fact it's meant James Johnson gets minutes is probably the only saving grace of that trade.

Seriously Fred? If the "adequate backup" was not traded then you could say bye-bye to a big FA next year.

It sucks that Deng is injured since he was coming back to form, but it is expected. And it's expected to happen at this time of the season. His body seems to wear down more than anyone else at this point in the season because he plays the most minutes. Maybe cutting down on that a bit would help keep him a little healthier for a whole season.

Didn't know we traded James Johnson. Wonder what we got since he was playing really well. Its not a bad oppurtunity to see what the kid is made of, if he keeps up this pace, I wouldn't mind trading deng for some front court help.

We all know Fred wanted Hinrich gone anyway

I wanted Hinrich traded, not Salmons. I'm on record, in many, many podcasts, that I thought Salmons was the better player this year, that he was having a better year (although they both sucked early in the season), and that he was a good defensive player (top 10 in steals until his demotion). Just my opinion, but I believe the Bulls valued Hinrich's contributions of fiestiness and thrust more, and they were more eager to trade Salmons than Hinrich. Based on Salmons' performance in Milwaukee, and Deng's inevitable injury, they were wrong.

Who said it was a choice? How do you know that Milwaukee would take Hinrich? It makes no sense to take Hinrich...it would cost more money. Your saying that Salmons is the better player makes it even more so. You going to have to get over this raging mad on you have for Hinrich man.

Most importantly, what difference does it make? Most likely neither will be around when its time to win championships...getting rid of all of that roster with the exception of Rose is worth it just to place that phone call to Lebron's agent.

Given a choice between a better player making 6 million for one year (which you might not even have to pay) or a worse player making 17 million for two years, which do you think teams wanted?

We had to give up a pick swap as it was to rid ourselves of Salmons, Hinrich would have cost what? Judging by Salmons, two future firsts minimum.
