Are you fine with his contract? I remember before we wanted to dump his contract on another team. Are you ok with him being paid this much now that he's playing MUUUUUUCH better?

While Deng has made himself a little bit more valuable, the Bulls could maybe use him for trade bait this summer to get a better player. The Bulls should cash in on his solid play from this season. I wouldn't be heartbroken to see him go if the right situation presented itself...

His contract is still up there, but he is earning it this season without a doubt. He is very young and he hasn't even hit that stride in a players career where they are at their peak shooting skill, which makes him very desirable to hang onto.

Hes producing on both ends and most importantly, staying healthy. I wouldnt say hes worth that contract but sometimes guys will get overpaid.

That Boozer guy on the other hand...

I'm perfectly fine with Luol's contract. He's not your average small forward. He brings great length and defense, along with a sweet jump shot. I've always loved his game, and I knew Deng was being read wrong. In another board I post on, I remember getting into arguments with people on the subject. When I said Deng still hasn't peaked and was just dealt a bad hand of injuries instead of going with the "he's soft, trade him ASAP" crew, I had everyone calling me a moron, idiot, you name it. It was always just, "he's soft, he will never be a threat from three, he could never play 80+ games again" blah blah blah. I wonder if Crystallas remembers those exchanges.

He has lived up to his contract this season. There's still a lot of room for improvement, but the only problem I had with Deng was games missed, and that was a non issue for this season. When he's on the floor, he's always good. The Bulls went through some rough years and so went Deng. He underachieved, but some players are just late bloomers. Now that the Bulls have a steady system and he has found his game, it looks easy for him. I could even see him improving off of this season, perhaps a MIP award is in his near future.

I care about Boozer's

Boozer hasn't been right since that fall on his leg. This is the worst he has ever been in the play-offs as a result. I wish we could get more from him. It is really scary how he always misses so many games.

I said when we signed him I was worried about his and Noah's injury-history. I was told, "Meh, Noah's injuries are fluky...no worries."

Well, fluky injuries popped up again this year....and when you're missing ANY of your starters in the p'offs, you're hurtin'...we're essentially playing with 70% of Boozer right now, and that's simply not good enough. If another starter goes down for just 1-2 games, this season is over :(

I know your track record Undi, and I'll back that up. There's a multipage thread here from pre-season somewhere with an lengthy exchange between a few people here, and about Deng's abilities and worth. I'm right there with ya bud.

The real problem is that if you gander over the field of bigmen in the league, you wont find too many good ones that can stay away from injuries for the entire season, and then perform in the post season. Change Boozer with someone else, and who's to say the problem goes away?

I'm still with the majority though about Boozers performance. He's playing tender-footed in the playoffs, making him a liability on both sides of the court. I do hope he can recover just enough to be effective and help us in the playoffs soon.
