yeah, he hit the 3 to win it. But he also kept attacking. He took smart shots in his wheelhouse. And the Bulls needed it.

One of these games, they're going to go cold from 3. It's seems the Cavs come up with a 3 when they need it. Meanwhile Dunleavy, Brooks, and Mirotic have been meh at best.

Anyone notice Thompson became quiet when Taj went in.

But I think the game Rose played was noteworthy and worthy of compliments. It's one game but it seems like he, in general, has matured somewhat in his decision making.

Way to Man up a little bit 2323! I'll give this to you. And yes, I Love Noah, but Taj brings the bangin and Niko brings the stretch. Nice to see Thib's make that adjustment! I think the last shot could bring back a strong Rose for #4 as well. We'll see!

MID RANGE GAME!

THAT is what D-Rose needs to start leaning on again! And he showed it tonight! This season, it's been attack, three, or nothing. The mid-range game is what put him over the top as an elite player. Makes him dynamic within the offense.

But again, he's able to do that cuz he's not double teamed cuz there's no defender on Noah. Dis you notice that Noah was not in the lineup down the stretch. This spread the floor for Derrick!

And mid range? He can pull up for a jumper from mid range cuz he has the room tho drive to the basket. His over shooting the 3's was a result of the lack of spreading the floor by Thibs!

I noticed that Pau Gasol wasn't on the floor either. They went with Taj as a 5 and Butler as a 4 to match LeBron at the 4.

I love Noah. I really do. They need him to play minutes because of his defensive presence and rebounding. But he plays too recklessly at critical times. Forcing passes he has no business trying to make when he's completely uncovered. He lets the emotion of the game control him to a degree that makes me wish Taj was always on the floor in those close, critical moments down-the-stretch.

Rose has his best games when he gets his teammates involved. That opens up lanes for him later in the game.

I really liked how Derrick took Kyrie completely out of the game! :)

Rose was good but I still question the last possession plays he decided on. No ball movement just driving into the wall isn't the way to secure a win. If we are to go all the way to a ring we need to improve our decision making. Coach as well.

Gasol got hurt. Hamstring injury. Something to worry about actually.

Rose had a good game.. but I thought he got a little cocky in the last 3 minutes of the game. With LeBron guarding him he kept attacking the basket and trying to score on LeBron... didnt work out. At that point he needs to realize there's 4 other guys out there. Same if Shumpert is on him. Both have the length to bother him just as they have in the past.

Kudos to him on the last play of the game. It was a broken play (which I saw coming because Thibs relies on Gasol for these types of plays). Rose put it in his hands and got off the shot.

A few empty possessions are worth it if you can tax LeBron. Because he's also being required to work extremely hard with Butler playing defense against him. And like I said before, if Rose can routinely go by LeBron, even if he doesn't always finish, it could increase Roses confidence and/or chisel away at LeBrons mystique, that being his extreme confidence and reliance on his own athleticism. I think he's getting by LeBron now more easily than he has in years past.

Btw, I don't expect Rose to be as good the next game, even though his judgment has seemed better lately. The Bulls need a Noah/Mirotic/Dunleavy/Brooks game. I think in order to win this, the Bulls will need to win one when Rose/Butler arent each performing. So far, it's been Cleveland getting contributions from guys like that.

It hurts but I agree with you here. D Rose made Lebron look real bad last night whenever he tried to guard him. He hit shots in his face and routinely went by him to the rim. Lebron has obviously lost a step athletically and his defense is no where near what it used to be. If Lebron wants to keep switching on Rose, I am all for Rose attacking him.

Rose was a bad man in that second half last night and I LOVED what Thibs did. Thibs did a great job getting Brooks in there early to get Rose some early rest and Mirotic more involved in the game altogether. Thibs needs to use Gibson and Mirotic more and ride the hot hand to win this series.

Brooks has been pretty awful in this series. If he can pick up his offensive game, that's really going to take some pressure off of Rose and get him some rest.

Jimmy was nothing short of spectacular last night. Absolutely an amazing game for him. First he was the Kobe stopper and now he is the King Slayer. He has played 3 great defensive games against him this series keeping Lebron well below 50% shooting and forcing lots of TO's.

It's nothing new. I'm "manning up" when I'm honest enough to be critical of him. You guys should do the same. You're one of several here who will criticize everyone else to avoid blaming Rose.

Butler is the unsung hero this series as so much of the narrative has been about Rose. He's easily been the best player. As I said before. I was a little worried the moment might be too big for him. Sometimes unheralded guys think they'll turn into a pumpkin. It's been the opposite with Butler. His combination of offense and defense has been epic so far. He's stepped up on offense and gone to another level on defense. He's also been the most consistent and reliable player while going against the best player in the league.

So impressed with Jimmy and the way he has just continued to play at an elite level. I keep thinking a drop off is coming and he just keeps balling. Convinced he is now truly, an elite player in the NBA.
