So, I posted this on RealGM, but it's a huge post that took me a couple hours so I wanted you guys to see it too:
At the beginning of the season, I chose to track Derrick's game by game statistics. I wanted to see the trends in his game. That work can be found here: http://www.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=853461
Derrick's Season:
(37.0 MPG) 16.8 PPG, 6.3 APG, 3.9 RPG, 2.49 TO, .475 FG%,

Past Guard Rookie Seasons (thanks to Sdeezy)
Tony Parker - (28 mpg) 9.2 PPG, 4.3 APG, 2.6 RPG - 2 TO on 42% FG%
Chris Paul - (36mpg) 16.1 PPG, 7.8 APG, 5.1 RPG - 2.3 TO on 43% FG
Deron Williams - (29mpg) 10.8 PPG, 4.5 APG, 2.4 RPG - 1.8 TO on 42% FG
Dwyane Wade - (35mpg) 16.2 PPG, 4.5 APG, 4.0 RPG - 3.2 TO on 46.5 % FG
Scoring:
Derrick showed everyone he could score with the best point guards in the NBA. The following chart is Derrick's 10 Game Moving PPG Average. 10 Game Moving Averages show the trends of the season.
Derrick started off scoring really well, struggled a little in the middle of the season due to defenses, but ended the year incredibly strong.
Assists:
Derrick's passing slowly but surely improved. He started off pretty slow, learning his teammates, improved, but then faltered due to players getting injured and an ever changing rotation. Eventually, due to the trades, rotation tightening, and improved play by the bigs, Rose saw his assist numbers, and the team's seeding, grow.
Rebounding:
Derrick immediately impressed with his rebounding skills. He proved to be a much better rebounder than we all expected. He started very strong, but faltered a little bit in the middle of the season, but eventually regained his rebounding after he addressed the other facets of his game.
Turnovers:
Derrick struggled a little bit early in the season with turnovers, but it was never really that big of an issue. He handled the ball well and I expect his Assist/Turnover ratio to improve greatly next year.
Ranks:
Points Per Game - #38 in NBA, #8 amongst PGs, #4 amongst East PGs, #2 amongst Rookies
Assists Per Game - #16 in NBA, #14 amongst PGs, #7 amongst East PGs, #1 amongst Rookies
Assist to Turnover Ratio - #22 in NBA, #20 amongst PGs, #9 amongst East PGs, #1 amongst Rookies
Rebounds Per Game - #7 amongst PGs, #4 amongst East PGs, #14 amongst Rookies
Hotspots:
Derrick is actually a pretty good mid-range jumpshooter. Check out his numbers at the left elbow, top of the key, and right side.
Summary:
Derrick put up an incredibly consistent rookie season. This is a superb feat for a couple reasons. First, Derrick adjusted to the challenge of being defended as the #1 option. Secondly, Derrick played 81 games this season, which is exactly the amount he played in the last 2 years combined (At Memphis and in High School). He showed few signs of fatigue and continued to lead this team through the ups and downs of a full season.
