Detroit Lions hire Rams' Brad Holmes, a 'proven leader,' as next general manager
Dave Birkett
Detroit Free Press
"I am thrilled to welcome Brad Holmes to Detroit," Lions owner Sheila Ford Hamp said in a statement. "Several weeks ago when we embarked on this process, it was critical that we find the right person to fit our vision for this team. It was evident early on that Brad is a proven leader who is ready for this opportunity

The thing I keep hearing about this guy is "proven leader" and " ability to communicate with all levels".

Holmes played a massive role in the Rams adding starting talent through the draft during his tenure in L.A. Despite defections, the Rams remained a deep club in 2020, leaning on rookies in several spots.

Well according to this, it's a bad hire:Why Detroit Lions' hiring of Brad Holmes as GM is another fail for the franchise

Except, they seem to think there are two guys who would leave successful franchises where they are already in the GM position, and become the GM of the Lions.
This article states he is listed 5 spots below the GM on the org chart. Sooooo Lions.

Where's our local Lions expert to come in and tell us how F'd we are as Bears fans because this time the Lions are serious and are going to be good?

Quite frankly, I wouldn't read much into the organizational charts. He may be 5th in the minds of the Kroenke's, but that doesn't mean Les Snead sees him as the 5th.

Maybe he will trade up in the draft for no apparent reason and pick the worst QB in the draft?

Oh wait, sorry, that was Ryan Pace that did that, my bad.

Laughing at all the idiots that claim they know jack shit about what makes a good GM.
