Draft

* Trade: Washington Redskins trade 1[13],2[44] and 2019 first round pick for Bears 1[8]

1[13] OLB Marcus Davenport [UTSA] 6'6 250lbs

Packers will be eyeing a OLB at 14 and I don't want to face this big LB chasing down Mitchell Trubisky on Sundays and the feeling of disapointment from Packers fans when they see Davenport picked at 13 would make it worth while.

2[39] OG Isaiah Wynn [Georgia] 6'2 300lbs

Wynn is a talented, technically sound block-winner with a demeanor that offensive line coaches will love. His athleticism allows for quick advantages as a run blocker while his hand strength and footwork helps him sustain those advantages into open running lanes. His plus pass protection will be appealing to teams looking for help in that area and he is capable of sliding out to tackle in an emergency. He appears to have the technique and play traits to overcome any concerns about size and could become an early starter.
-Lance Zierlein

2[44] OT Jamarco Jones [Ohio State] 6'5 310lbs

Recruited from Chicago.

"He has holes like they all do but I think he's safer than Mike McGlinchey as a pro. Ohio State's scheme doesn't give you as many pro-style looks as Notre Dame, but I think he'll fit in well as a pro." -- NFC team area scout

4. WR Marcell Ateman [Oklahoma State] 6'4 220lbs

Long target with good size and functional speed. Ateman played in a vertical offense that took advantage of subpar secondaries in his conference and should fit into a West Coast offense as a pro. His frame and ball skills give him instant credibility as a jump ball threat in the red-zone while he continues to hone his skill set. Ateman should be an early backup with a chance to climb the ladder on the depth chart.
-Lance Zierlein

4. OLB Duke Ejiofor [Wake Forrest] 6'4 270lbs

Ejiofor looked a little quicker and more fluid last season, but he's not a naturally gifted athlete. Ejiofor's game revolves around his heavy hands and his ability to finish as a rusher if a blocker gives him an opening. Ejiofor needs to play with better play speed and a more consistent motor to reach his potential, but his natural strength and ability to harass the quarterback as an interior rusher on sub packages gives him a chance to find some early playing time even if he's a backup.
-Lance Zierlein

5. ILB Micah Kiser [Virginia] 6'2 240lbs

Bears need depth at the position.

6. WR Daurice Fountain [Nothern Iowa] 6'1 210lbs

7. CB Kamrin Moore [Boston College] 5'11 200lbs

He's a young wide receiver with some speed but could use some work on his route running skills he's going to be overpaid but Bears have to bring in some receivers with upside.

Bears need a deep ball threat and Gabriel is perfect for that.

This is the perfect example why there should be one "Bears mock draft thread" where mods would then put all of those newly opened "spammy" mocks/offseason plans.

Your first two picks are going to go well before the bears selections, as you have them.

Davenport could very well be drafted before the Bears original pick, given the hype that is building around him and his athletic traits. Wynn I see as a late first rounder as well.

Also, your depth at tackle is wanting , and our receiver group isnt much better than we had before. Not a fan of this draft

Nah, he's basically assuming that the skins are willing to pay a 2nd rounder to trade up for a quarterback at #8 and he's probably right in that instance.

So why wouldn't the Skins trade with either SF or Oakland which both draft after the Bears, since neither team needs a QB and the compensation would be cheaper for Washington?

Washington gives that up for the #1 or #2 pick overall so they can have first dibs on their guy, presuming their guy at QB is there, and presuming Kirk Cousins is gone--which I'll buy here.

Washington wont give up two 1sts and a 2nd to move up 5 spots from 13th to 8th to have anywhere from 2nd-5th dibs on a quarterback. That's bad front office management and if you were a skins fan in that regard and your GM just gave up that to go from 13 to 8, you'd call for his head.

And why are you so quick to just cut Josh Sitton? Bears have plenty of cap room and he's still one of the better guards. He gets snatched up in a second, and all you've done is create another hole and put an unknown who's 6'2 with some of the shortest arms, limited strength, and bad fundamentals with his hips coming out in the draft to replace him. Wynn is raw as hell, and I don't see the draw to a tackle moving to guard because he clearly can't play tackle at the NFL level.

And if you're doing that to troll the packers, and Davenport is their guy--What's to stop them from leap frogging the bears to get him? What happens if they do what the bears did to the giants with Leonard Floyd in that case? Then who goes 13?
...

Fighting a what if statement with a what if is annoying as hell.

OG ratings

1. Quenton Nelson
2. Will Hernandez
3. James Daniel
4. Billy Price
5. Isaiah Wynn

I'd be happy with any of them.

At OLB I see

1. Bradley Chubb
2. Tremaine Edmund
3. Marcus Davenport
4. Rashaan Evans
5. Harold Landry

Hopefully we can get one of the top three guys at OLB.
