For about 20 years, Dick Clark used to be the butt of a friendly joke. About how he doesn't age. In the last 6 years, he started to age a lot, so the joke stopped working.

I'll miss him for doing the 10k/25k/100k Pyramid most of all. He wasn't as tied to a script or cue cards. That's when I thought that he was more than just a charismatic personality that had a good voice and did well in front of a camera. Dick Clark is not the master of ceremonies, but the legend of ceremonies.
