Did the Hawks make a mistake picking Beach over Myers?

Tyler Myers was picked one pick later after Beach.

Big fan of Beach & met him in Crestwood. Really good guy.

Really hope he can develop. But, imagine Myers on this team?

Our d-men core would be pretty damn solid.

Of course this may mean no Nick Leddy. (if we had Myers)

short answer RIGHT NOW: yes, it was a mistake...


we wont know for sure until we see Beach play consistent minutes at the NHL level

All these players were picked after him. And I would take all of them over him at this point. But Beach still has that skill set that the Blackhawks need desperately.

Those guys got into situations where they play in the NHL right away. They have developed into the NHL game, where Beach is just breaking into the pro ranks. The Hawks depth is a reason why he is down in Rockford, as cap has played a part in the past as well.

We just need to hope Beach can mature and keep his head on. If he's going to act like a clown his whole career then yeah we made the mistake. Lets see what Beach's potential is before we start saying it was a bad pick. He has really great set of skills, but its the attitude that I hate.
