Cuban has said that he wants to make changes this off-season and I think he should look into moving Dirk because he's aging. I say why not get value and depth for him now. Dirk coming over to the East will add a different dimension to the central division. In whole, his game is the right advantage for Rose more than Bosh and Stoudemire. Rose draws a lot of double teams and Dirk spreads the floor and provides double teams. I think you will see a Mo and Lebron affect in the 2009-10 season record.

Dallas receives: Hinrich, Deng, Noah, and our highest first round pick.

PG: Hinrich, Terry, Barea
SG: Howard, Terry
SF: Deng, Green
PF:(DeJuan Blair (Mavs pick)) Bass
C: Dampier,(BJ Mullens (Bulls first pick))

Chicago receives: Nowitzki

PG: Rose, (cheap FA)
SG: Salmons, Gordon
SF:(James Johnson(Bulls last pick)); Tim Thomas
PF: Ty. Thomas; Tim Thomas
C: Nowitzki, Miller, Gray

I have never really been a big fan of Dirk, finding him somewhat overrated. If we do get him, our interior defense won't get any better, but the offense would be immensely improved. Dirk is more of a power forward and i think he would find it difficult to play center along side tyrus. But Rose said he likes playing with big men like Miller who can shoot, so Rose's game would get even better. I'd still rather get Bosh cause of his age and defense, but Dirk and Amare would be a tie, I'd be happy with either. I just don't think Dallas would be willing to part with Dirk just yet. Unless Cuban takes total control and kicks him out, cause we all know Cuban likes to be in the spotlight.

I'd probably jump on that trade. I'm not sure that Dallas is going to want to take on all that long term salary for Dirk if they decide to go a different direction though, especially when none of it is committed to a real star.

This is just an early prediction, but I think the Mavericks big change this summer will be signing Allen Iverson. I don't see him trading Dirk, Dirk is a lifetime Maverick imo. (Okay, he was on the Bucks for a half hour or so....).

Cuban talked about how this summer a lot of good players will be available on the cheap in the free agent market, he called it a "nuclear winter" of sorts. I think Iverson is probably one of those players he was talking about.

A Jason Kidd/Allen Iverson/Dirk Nowitzki core, with Josh Howard mixed in there, and Jason Terry off the bench? It has the potential to be a good team. I don't think it will, but it would be one thing to try, to at least try to salvage the Mavericks around Dirk. Otherwise, Dirk will get old, and be too old to lead the Mavericks to a championship, and if he were to win one, it would be in the same manner that David Robinson won his championship wtih Duncan.

That makes a lot of sense too. I don't know that they resign Kidd in that scenario necessarily though.

Uptown baby!
I hope everyone here at IHN joins me in wishing one of our friendliest and best members (and likely our favorite Wolverine!) the sincerest of belated yet genuinely heartfelt birthday wishes! Perish the thought but somehow we all missed that this past December 18th Nana ticked off another birthday notch---so very sorry.

Better late than to be remiss in atoning for this oversight for such a FAB member!

Ummm. . .for the record I'm just gonna go ahead and lay blame at Ton's feet because the whole member birthday function thingy has never quite acted right with the board switch.

Now send her all the best birthday wishes and salutations you'd like, buy her some foie gras or vino, say hello to her at the UC this week and maybe buy her a brewski, whatever. But for reals, under absolutely no and I do mean NO! circumstance should you get her these lest you suffer the consequences. . .

Also, thanks Ton for being the GOAT.

Best photoshopped cake ever Bookie.

And happy birthday Nana. even though it is a bit late, you can understand why Ididn't notice as my birthday is so close to yours, and honestly, that momentous day of my birth really kinda eclipses all others in the month of December, and a bit of November and January to boot.

Nana - I would just like it known that I would have rather celebrated your b-day than Jako's. He's a ******.

Regardless, I hope it was a good one and may you have many, many more.

Edited for accuracy.

Also, you should probably stay away from his parties...

Oh, no doubt it's a 2011 personal resolution to continue to avoid Jako's freakass side show in the flesh.
