some are theorizing that Poles is taking his time filling the other edge as many of the FA left on the scrapheap have similar mid production. Wonnum is coming for a visit today allegedly and i haven't heard a peep from anyone about Yannick, i think Yannick has become the league's pass rush mercenary. Wonnum is younger than Yannick which Poles likes, he's had 2 eight sack seasons but if you look at his career games played RN, about half the games of Yannick, if you double his stats Yannick still comes out ahead.

Ngakoue had 4 sacks for the Bears last year...not sure they run that back....

either way I see them drafting a pass rusher

DJ damn near killed Fields last season. That left an impression with me and most likely Justin too.

Wonnum has two 8 sack seasons. He’s not a star by any means but he played 70% of their snaps last year and would help the Bears greatly with similar production. (The most any Bear had was 6)

Agree with @modo ….. they’re drafting a pass rusher regardless. (Don’t know if that’s necessary at 9 or not).

Yannick is probably gone IMO. He showed very little last year

I think they will get a guy that knows how to set the edge, regardless of this sack numbers. I still see them drafting someone, but they will get a guy that knows how to contain.

Pretty sure 50% of his career sacks are against the Bears and our QB who holds onto the ball for an eternity.

Well, suppose that our defensive minded HC thinks he can get the most out of this young guy. It wouldn't be a bad thing to add a young talent looking to take a big step to the DE rotation.

This team needs 4 ends rotating throughout the game, to keep pressure coming to the final whistle. Aim for a rookie end to add to the rotation after an FA signing, and I think the team is in a better place.

Bears can and have done a lot worse than Wonnum or Mike Danna for DE - I wouldnt mind one of them paired with a day 2 rookie. Wonnum+Kneeland maybe, idk.

Danna would be a great rotational piece, I'm foolishly holding out hope for Armstead. Him next to Sweat and Dexter could really give us more roster flexibility heading into the draft and let the defense dominate.

Good thing we don't have to worry about this anymore.
