Do any Cubs season ticket holders have family drama?

I am a journalist working on a piece for Chicago Magazine online about how families with Cubs season tickets are being affected by the playoffs. My family has held season tickets for the Cubs for over 70 years. Their tickets are seventh row behind the dugout. After my grandparents passed away, my father and his sister split the tickets. This past year, my aunt bought all of the tickets, and now that the Cubs are in the playoffs, it has been tearing my family apart. My aunt refuses to sell my father, her brother, tickets at face value. she instead wants the going rate, which is around $900 per ticket.

I’m looking to speak with other season ticket holders who are dealing with the same problem in their family. Ideally, I’d like to speak with people in various different relationships—husband/wife, child/parent, brother/sister, etc. I will be weaving in other family stories with my own. Thanks! If you can help, please reply here and I'll share my email address.

My Aunt Sissie pummeled my cousin Dee-Dee with a tire iron over who would go to game 6 of the 2003 NLCS versus the Marlins.

Does that count?

Why is this exclusive to season ticket holders? Sounds to me like your family doesn't like you and vise versa.

I thought this thread was a joke, meaning "Any season ticket holder have drama going on, and can't use their playoff tickets?"

I'm with Crys. This has nothing to do with tickets and everything to do with a dysfunctional family that cannot get along. You NEVER take advantage of family.

Sounds like your family didn't need any help from the Cubs to tear itself apart?

Sounds like your aunt is a terrible person. I would shut her out of the family if she did that to me.

Damn you guys are rough. My family has has season tickets for over 25 years and somehow we have always had everyone get to as many games as they wanted. I have 3 siblings and my parents are still alive. Everyone wants to go but we have managed to split them up fairly. I actually don't mind watching the games on TV. I was just in Chicago for games 1 and 2 and they were AWESOME!!
