So I had already cracked one of my shit plastic hub caps on my fusion(why oh why dont they just put all metal wheels on cars). and I got a carwash yesterday and saw my left front cap was just gone when I got home. For the time being for the sake of consistency I took off the other caps on the wheels, and was astonished with the ease in which and how little force it required to pop them off. Ford wants 80 bucks a pop to replace those plastic caps.

I looked on NTB's website and I could get all metal wheels for 100-150 a piece. Its a no brainer at that point, ijm just going to get my wheels replaced draw back will probably have to replace my tires too, Ive had this car for 2 years so whatever maybe the tires need replacing.

Problem....who the **** sells wheels that wont make me look all ghetto fabulous?! I dont drive a damn Cadillac, I drive a fucking ford fusion. I dont want some fucking chrome ridiculousness on my car. So Ive been looked at black/charcoal colored machined wheels which are at least subdued and dont draw a shitload of attention. Although Id prefer something that looks like it came with the car.

I dont want to be driving down the street with people alll "LOL he bought rims for a fusion"

Okay, it's a good thing I'm doing research for my wife about getting a new car:
<

All of the fusion rims for 2012 are 10-spoke, 5 spoke sectors with 2 spokes each. Stock sizes for 2012 are 205/60R16, 225/50R17, and 225/45R18, all similarly sized but going from largest overall diameter with the 16" rim to the Smallest overall with the 18". Thus, chances are you won't be going faster that your stock speedo says (I'm not much of a ford fan, so I don't know how hard it is to reprogram your car's computer to change the speedo to match your overall tire height).

Looking at discounttire.com (where I ordered mine from), and given the specs for a 16" rim that would fit a Fustion (6.5" width, 5x114.3 bolt pattern), you could get one of the following rims:

http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/findWheelsBySize.do?rcc=Westmont&rc=ILCINT&wd=16&bp=5-114.3*5-4.5*5-4.5%2F5&rw=6.5

Personally, if you got the bottom one it wouldn't look ghetto, more like stock.

Don't really have anything to add, but I've always had good luck with Tirerack and their folks and website.

ARE racing 5 spoke wheels would look pretty good and in good taste on a fusion, and they are fairly cheap rims. Also while you're there don't forget to have your curb feelers installed and of course the whistle tips for the exhaust!

The one thing I dont like about the fusion is it rides really low. In my last apartment the parking spot was off of a curb and I would bottom out almost every time I backed out, no matter how slow i pulled out.

I agree with Mass. I use tirerack.com consistently for my tires. I've never bought wheels though. They have an option for tire/wheel combos on the site as well. It is worth checking out. I usually save $100 for a set of 4 tires over my local prices (and that's after I pay to get them balanced and mounted).

I've dealt with TireRack as well...they're pretty good.

The only thing to look out for is rim offset. I don't know what it is for a Fusion, but you might want to double-check before any purchase. If the rim is offset inboard you'll get rubbing and less stability. If it's too ourboard you'll put more wear on the mounting hardware and it will look ghetto. Not as ghetto as being having so much camber you can drive the car on it's side, but ghetto nonetheless.

And if you want to have some real fun jump on the tollroad and go to their warehouse outside of south bend. a lot of weekends they have events on their track and you can see some neat cars while they mount your tires or rims.
