Do we all overreact to Miami or is it just the media?

Maybe it's just that everything with Miami has to be a story. They are written about as redeeming figures when they win, a team that overcame adversity, and did the right thing by joining forces. When they lose, suddenly they...

That Doug Thonus guy seems to be Miami obsessed. He is always talking about how scary they are going to be because they are going to get better next year. I don't think he realizes the Bulls and plenty of other teams will get better as well. The Bulls beat themselves just as much as Miami beat them. Those games were all close and the Bulls could have won every game from game 2 on up. I really hope Thonus and other people don't get fooled by the hype ESPN give them and realize that they are flawed just like every other team in the league.

Yeah but Miami already is way ahead of everyone else since they have the Big 3. Just having Wade and James alone is enough to beat most teams. Unless the new CBA absolutely traps them in their current state, they are going to get better, and provided they can keep the big 3, ring chasers are going to go there over places like LA and Chicago. There's a perfectly good reason to be scared of Miami. I think we could've won a few more games this year, but our lack of experience and utter failure in the clutch derailed us in those close games. But given that Miami is going to get better, the only way I see us topping them is with either Dwight Howard or an all star SG.

I disagree, Miami will be better in terms of the big 3's chemistry together, but in terms of surrounding players no they won't. They are gonna get end of the line player's who were once stars but have lost several steps. They will not be able to afford people without cutting half of their bench, which will disrupt their team chemistry. Miami is over hyped big time. I for one have no fear in them what so ever.

Dwight Howard better work on his post game because lobs and dunks will only take you so far. As for the shooting guard, that position is overblown to me. The team just needs a player who can post at least 10 points a game and force the defense to play honest and if they don't make them pay with a layup or dunk. That guy is Ronnie Brewer in my opinion. Also if Thibs runs plays down the stretch instead of telling Rose to go, we could have beaten Miami, even with the refs giving them timely fouls in their favor.

It doesn't matter what other players they have around them as long as they keep Haslem, Miller, and Chalmers. Everyone else is just a filler to spell those 3. I'm pretty sure they can at least get a better PG than Bibby or a C better than Anthony, but I have my doubts about us even getting a decent SG. Miami's the team to beat and the only way we're beating them is with an all star SG. Someone needs to command defensive attention because we all know in the last 5 minutes Lebron is guarding Rose. If we have a legit threat at SG plus Deng and perhaps Boozer on the floor, that's one more person Miami has to think about. Maybe that makes all the difference in that series, who knows?

It's great that you're not scared by Miami, but realistically, they're only going to get better and they're already 1.5 superstars ahead of us.

Is it really fair enough to say that it's 51/49? As in 51% is the media & 49% is the fans. I think the media is extremely obsessive about everything pertaining to them, but at times so are the fans.

Ok, so an All-Star shooting guard will do the trick? Come on, seriously lol. Everyone refuses to see how Rose didn't attempt to pass the ball at all. If he moved the ball around like like he did throughout the regular season the Bulls would have beaten the Heat. You are pretty much falling for the hype that you need all-stars and "superstars" to win games. All stars and Superstars are both based on people's opinions and as for all-stars, fan votes. So that is an unrealistic requirement to go for when you are looking for a player. To pin point a loss down to a certain position means people aren't watching games. Luol Deng can command attention, you don't need a shooting guard to do that. The Heat knew Rose wouldn't pass the ball down the stretch and that's how they beat us. Nothing special with what they did. If Rose does that again, he could have any shooting guard you want to name and it would be the same result of he doesn't look for the pass...

Miami is probably going to be scarier next season and in the years to come. I don't think anybody can deny that. Give them a couple of decent draft picks and we are talking about multiple championships.

Rose doesn't pass because no one is reliable enough to score. At times not even Rose is reliable enough to score. Don't say I didn't watch games. I watched 98% of the games this season, I know what I'm talking about. Superstars are superstars because they are GOOD. All Stars are All Stars because they are GOOD (most of the time, sometimes you're right the fans just pick a person ie TMac and AI when they were clearly done and China with Yao). If we had say, Manu Ginobili (proven All Star), do you think we beat the Heat? How about Andre Iguodala? Ray Allen? We have 3 guys who deserve at least some degree of attention in the starting lineup: Rose, Deng, and Boozer. The Heat have Lebron, Wade, and Bosh/Anthony to defend them. Sure we can throw in Korver, but as we saw, he can go cold for a whole series, and can be guarded by someone like Mike Bibby since all he does is stand at the 3pt line. Having that other person who can create for themselves opens up a world of possibilities for us. Let's say we add even a guy like OJ Mayo. Lebron's on Rose, Wade's on Mayo, Haslem is on Boozer, but then who guards Deng? Mike Miller? Deng can score on Mike Miller 9 times out of 10. Plus, having a secondary creator can allow us to put the ball in his hands instead of Rose's and let Rose try to get Lebron caught up in a screen by working off the ball. If Rose is going to take that shot no matter what, then you're right, he has to just take Lebron to the basket, but it's not like we can just stand pat while Miami only gets better. If we're going to beat Miami, we need significant upgrades.

Agreed, as mentioned earlier in many places, veterans will sign for a ring.

It's going to be interesting to see who ducks out for a chance for a ring, because no team will want to help Miami.

Miami traded it's next 3-4 years worth of picks for Bron and Bosh, I believe.

I agree with what you are saying. I just feel like whether they are reliable or unreliable he should have passed the ball. Haslem barely played and LeBron and Wade weren't hesitant to pass him the ball. They also passed it to Joel Anthony who is not in to score, but they still made the pass to force us to be honest on defense. Rose or Deng didn't do that too well, they forced a lot of action, which was fine at times but it made the team stand around and watch them. I just would have like to see the ball move, like in game 1 against the Heat. Granted no one really missed. But the ball was still moving and because of that everybody was moving and the offense wasn't stagnant like it was in the subsequent games.
