Just curious. Between Rose and Brewer, it seems like we might have the most athletic 1 and 2 in the NBA. We could be in store for some nice fast breaks, especially if Rose raises his game defensively.

I was about to post the same thing. In another thread i said how i like their athleticism combined in the back-court is great.

Id day they are the most athletic combo. Rose is arguably the most athletic guard in the league. I wonder how Brewers hammy is doing though. I hope this isnt something that lingers.

Could you imagine if were were actually able to pull off a trade with Philly and get Iguodala? Imagine the athleticism of Rose, Brewer, and Iguodala at the 3.

You make a fair point about his hamstring. Unfortunately, even if its better, thats an injury that seems to recur a lot relative to other injuries. I share that concern as well.

Still though, its not as if it breaks the bank. 3 years for 12.5 seems very reasonable for a starter and a good player.

They came to mind but i think the drop off from Rose to Curry is more than Ellis to Brewer.

Easily. Brewere can hold his own against Ellis but, like you said, the drop off between Rose and Curry is significant. Curry's game is more about skill, namely outside shooting.

But then who are you starting at SF between AI and Brewer? Id rather keep Deng. He's not real athletic but i prefer him over AI. That contract hurts worse than Dengs.

Yeah Curry has some quickness but he doesnt have that blow past you dribble penetration like Rose. But height also takes play when going to the rim. Rose can really get up.

AI's best position is SF. And thats where I would start him. Another reason Id love Iggy is because he's also athletic enough to keep up with quicker 2s and you could keep him on the floor to bring in Korver. Deng is more of a one trick pony. I cant see him playing the 2 or the 4.

I wouldnt call Deng a 1 trick. He's got a good mid-range game and has shown more ability to get to the rim and draw contract and he also plays D. He just settles for his jumper far too often and of course, durability is a huge knock. They both are good at different things. I guess its preference. Id rather have have Dengs length and all the things he does well, not spectacular.

I thought I was pretty clear that he's one trick as in, he cant play a 2 or a 4. He's a SF and thats it. The only thing I can see is him playing a 4 in an offense like Don Nelson runs but even thats kind of a stretch.

Oooh, i thought you meant as in his actual on court ability. Yeah as far as playing multiple positions, its SF and thats it.
