Do you think Peter Gammons has an axe to grind against the Cubs?

He called Wrigley a dump (even though its still better than Fenway).

He thought the Cubs were going to throw in their best prospect for Theo, like it was no big deal.

He's always designating our players as someone the Yankees or Red Sox can have (presumably for little/nothing).

I just heard him say that the Cubs aren't a player for Fielder because of money and that this isnt the year the Cubs are ready to spend money. We all know there wont be a bat like this on the market for a while.

He really seems to want the Cubs to suck and is resentful for something.

What other things has he said?

Do I have Peter Gammons all wrong?

Peter Gammon is a born Red Sox knob-slobber, so of course he has an axe-to-grind with the Cubs, who stole his favorite GM, the same GM who allowed him to worship the Red Sox in the national spotlight for the past 8+ years.

1. Wrigley is a dump.

2. Gammons called Fenway a dump repeatedly before it was renovated and fixed up(It was). I believe he even referenced this fact in the article calling out Wrigley.

3. Fenway at this point>>>Wrigley. Fenway post renovations by all accounts is very nice. Wrigely is behind.

A lot of people thought that.

Such as whom?

Does this suprise anyone? People here have said they weren't sure the Cubs would spend a shit load for Fielder. People reading the Theo tealeaves have said the same thing.

For the record. I love Wrigley Field. It's in my top 3 places to watch a game at. The neighborhood scene is great. It's a classic park. It just need a major face lift and overhaul in some areas. Even Rickett's knows and admits to that. Maybe he wouldn't come out and straight call it a "dump" but wanting to dump $250 million into Wrigley kind of speaks volumes.

I think Gammons is an A-Level fucktard, but no, I don't think he's anti-cub by any means.

Royals are loaded with young talent. Far from a laughing stock.
