chris paul came into the league with a crappy shot, and he's rather good from out there at this point in his career. Rose worked on his jumper this offseason. he's better at the midrange shot than he was last year, do you think he'll have a 3 anytime soon?

He might have an OK 3pt shot in a few years.

Chris Paul came into the league with a better 3 point shot than Rose has, and he's only managed to reach the point where you'd say he's slightly above average (assuming he doesn't continue to shoot 65% for the entire year!)

So I'd say that if Chris Paul is your point of reference, the chances don't look great. He's improved his percentage by about 8% since his rookie year, which would only bring Rose to 30%, ie still better off not shooting 3s.

What I think we should be more concerned with is if Rose can hit a game winning shot. Or better yet, a game winning 3 pointer.

I don't care if he developes a 3point shot, I just want him to penetrate and knock down the mid range shoot, be like a Kidd, Jordan, or Barkley, not great 3pt shooters, but were able to knock down the 3 in key moments, thats all he has to do for me on the 3point shot subject.

what he needs to use more often is the tear drop floater from about 7-10 ft from the basket. he can sky over any pg in the game, yet he passed this shot up 4-5 times last night on fast breaks when faced with only derek fisher. he uses the floater sometimes and it almost always goes in, it just seems like he forgets he is capable of this shot.

if he can get it up in the air quick like monte ellis or ben gordon (even rafer alston kinda has this shot down) hed get an extra 4-6 points easy.

also id rather he further solidifies his midrange shot before he moves on to the 3. it still looks a little flat

I think he'll develop a three point shot from straight ahead pretty soon, but he'll struggle from areas on the court where a greater amount of touch is needed.

All that being said, I just want to see our attack point guard attack and finish consistently.

I don't think it's imperative for him to develop a three point shot. I remember people saying Wade needed to develop a three point shot to become a great player. He's still piss-poor from long range and he's one of the best SGs of all-time.

What he really needs is to become automatic from mid-range and finish around the rim at a better clip.
