Keyword "your" happiness, not a general question....its regarding to you personally in your life.

As I've said, I live very comfortably. The money I make gives me comfort, not necessarily happiness.

That being said, I recently purchased a $400 grill and it has yet to disappoint me.

of course it does.
Immaturity at its best. I know a shitload of rich people who have kids that aren't the happiest despite their income. They can have whatever the **** they went but they don't get to spend a ton of time w/ their parents, their parents can be divorced, and I've known a few that tried to use money for complete happiness and failed.

I picked option #3. It can make me happy to an extent, but material possessions can't make me 100% happy.

So what? If you aint got that $$$$$$ you most likely wont be happy. Because in almost every situation money is involved somehow.

So you'd rather be filthy rich and lonely than have a fair amount of money and able to live a more normal life?

I never said anything close to that.

I'd rather put more money towards retirement, but that is me.

SHort term satisfaction, absolutely. Long term happiness, not even close. Easily could have gone and done something in the buisness world but I find more fulfillment in helping people so I went into the human services/counseling field and took a large downgrade in my potential earnings. I need money to live comfortably, I need other things to be truly happy.

Money buys you more happiness than a lack-of.

I don't think a person's value relate to how much happiness they have. Sure at some point of your life, you would think rich people have everything. The only real correlation(to me) is that a person will spend their 8 hours a day at work. If they truly love their job, then everything else falls into place, in terms of happiness.

Everyone has pre-set accolades. If you succeed, you're 50/50 from satisfaction and disappointment.
