Does your arm span equal your height?

I've always heard that your arm span is supposed to be equal to your height..

But I'm 5'11 and my arm span is 6'2.

I'm curious to see how many people have it equal

Wing span - 72in (6ft)

I'm 5ft 7in.

I can kick anyone in the nuts.

I don't need to know what my arm length equates.

But seriously, not sure, I'd think it was close to my actual height, as my arms are neither short or ridiculously long.

Ok, curiousity got the best of me. I stand 5ft 7in. Arm span was just about 5ft 9in. Thats tip of middle finger to the other. But like I said, not short nor ridiculously long.
