More like carried by his defense in 18 and backed in this season. Ryan Fitzpatrick would have done the same.

1) The Bears are not contenders right now (woefully, they haven't been for years, sad to say).

2) Forget the QB, get everything else sorted in the meantime. i.e. Ryan Pace, thanks but no thanks.

3) Build through the draft in R. Pace's absence.

4) Trade Matt Nagy (if still possible, he has a winning record), bring in coach from Northwestern (hell, yeah. The Packers wanted him and they are not....completely dysfunctional!)

5) Have some FECKING direction. If there is one currently, it is not obvious to the fans right now!

It's really gonna depend on contracts. If you can get Fitzpatrick on a one-year deal where he's the starter but paid like Cam and Mitch is gonna fetch compensatory picks, you take that route.

Andy Dalton has been a loser since 2016. Plus he's 0-4 in the playoffs.
