Clippers: Blake Griffin was told by the Clippers' staff he'll be selected number one overall. Clearly, Blake is the best project in this decent draft class.
Grizzlies: Ricky Rubio will be playing beside Mayo next year. I can't see why they would go out their way to appease the Rubio family. Basically to convince them - in Spain - that Memphis market is in his best interest.
Thunder: James Harden mature and ol skool skills will land him on Thunder. OKC knows talent and they aren't going to waste the pick on one dimensional skills. Harden will bring that "Robin" to Durant. Harden has all the skills to be in the All-Star league for years to come. He can pass, shoot, and takeover games with poise. Harden plays far beyond his years.
Kings: Johnny Flynn is the surprise pick here. Kings are going in the tough and together-as-one direction. They clearly have all the talent but they aren't a team. Johnny Flynn brings swagger and that Avery Johnson toughness. He has hops like Steve Francis and the ability to get his teammates the ball like T.J. Ford does - you know, drive and kick. I think he can change the culture of this team. Jerry Reynolds want the best available at this position and Flynn is the one. He's a commander and leader.
Wizards: Jordan Hill should be a Wizard next year. Not surprising, Hill can add intangibles to this team that's already good - at least in my eyes. So that's a plus, he's a project but should replace the aging Jamison soon. Hill can score in the shaded lane, rebound consistently, and block shots. He runs the floor like a Triathlete and has shown significant improvements over the past 3 years. Looking forward to seeing him and Mcgee in the future.
T'Wolves: Hasheem Thabeet obviously is the targeted player here. His character and safeness gives him the edge. Love isn't the long-term sidekick for Jefferson, being he's skills are redundant and it showed. Thabeet complements Jefeferson by being a presence of the defensive end. Which in all honesty, this way everybody knows their role.
Warriors: Brandon Jennings style of play translates easily to Nelson's system. Everything he does is flare and should be placed under the style category. Iverson and Jennings are in the same league of talent, so they know what they're getting at that pick. Him and Ellis will be a difficult back-court to handle if they learn how to play alongside each other
Knicks: Stephen Curry has gotten everything from the Knocks except a check. Curry is the ideal D'Antoni Point Guard, someone that can shoot and create for his teammates. They're also not the toughest and we see that here. He should excel in the run and gun offense.
Raptors: Tyreke Evans is the logical pick. He's not the most gifted athletically but he understands how to play. He can light you up offensively and defensively playing at his pace. Which is surprising because he's so young. He's the second coming of James Harden in this section of the lottery. Evans needs to improve his jump-shot to become unstoppable.
Bucks: Jrue Holiday might find himself playing next to Redd next year. Bucks will draft him since they'll lose Sessions in the FA. Importantly, Bucks has a history of developing many Point Guards and I don't see why those rules won't apply to Jrue. Holiday is a different Point Guard. His game is very steady and associated around high IQ. He'll need it on the NBA level.
Nets: Dejuan Blair stock has risen and he'll be playing alongside the Fundamental, big man Lopez. His character, taste of Jay-Z music, and moose-like build applies to Rod Thorn preferences. They obviously struggled in the rebounding department and Blair checks that off the list. He's not falling past the Nets. His rebounding and toughness is too intriguing.
Bobcats: Demar Derozen might be a steal going to the Bobcats. This wing has all the tools to be great but tends to get overwhelmed by talent just as good as himself. He and Augustin should form a prototypical back-court. He'll come along slowly under Coach and Gerald Wallace. He admits he has to improve a lot and not just be a athlete. Looking forward to seeing the kid turn himself into a great player in 3 years.
Pacers: Jeff Teague is the hometown guy and will thrive in his yard. Bird will look to make a steal in this draft while addressing a need. Teague certainly is the obvious choice at this pick. He brings athleticism, shot making ability, and energy. He still needs to improve on making others around him better. Ultimately, you're looking at the 2009 draft version of Monta Ellis. Him, Rush, and Granger should be exciting for years to come.
Suns: Austin Daye skill-set will capture the eyes of Kerr and make him number one priority. Over the last month, Daye has become quicker, and more agile after his knee has healed. A lot of teams are quiet and not saying he should return to school. He might go higher than this. Ultimately, Kerr won't let him go pass the Suns. Daye has a shooting stroke that's deadly and when he gets it going, it's on all night. He has mismatch potential and this should work to Phoenix advantage. No one knows where Stoudemire end up but Daye ill play well at the 3 or 4.
