GREAT GAME! Scored 7 minutes in and then scored 2 minutes into the second. Then scored again a few minutes later. Got a 4th goal that was called off (don't know why), but then scored like a minute later to make it 4-0 anyway!

Fire defeat the New York Red Bulls and advance to the U.S. Open Cup Semi-finals!!!

Was next in line for Pappa autograph... but he had to go right then, lol.

If you weren't there, you missed a hell of a good time.

USOC semi-final vs. Richmond Kickers on 30Aug. tix now on sale on the Fire's website.

In the event that you don't know, we are 2 games away from hoisting our 5th USOC trophy--which is tied for all-time for the most, and the most of the 'modern era'--from 70's-present.

the USOC is one of North America's oldest professional sports tourney's. Do a quick google search to learn more!

And the most of all MLS teams.

Nobody really cares about the tournament, but the game was just great.

That is inaccurate. from a local pub team that gives it all to the MLS sides that take it seriously, the USOC matters to people. In Chicago, it matters to the FO, the team, the fans and supporters. We want to make history, and we are the kingsofthecup!

EDUCATE YOURSELF. This link shows a series of short videos regarding the history of the Chicago Fire in the USOC--it is made, directed, and produced by fans of the club and those interested in knowing more.

It didn't become a 'league' because the USOC is open to ANY AND EVERY level of competition in the US, from a pub team to an MLS club.

Why haven't you heard about it? I don't know you, so I won't make an assumption about your US soccer history knowledge or knowledge of the current state of any league in the US so I can't say why you don't know about it.

Sure people care about it, but I mean I care more about regular season than the tournament. Whereas the Champions League matters more than regular season.

And I was basing it off of the USOC not being televised too.

Oh, I know. Different teams have different priorities. to try to make it 'more meaningful' to the top side teams (MLS), the USSF has now placed a CONCACAF Champions League spot on the line for the winner of the tourney in addition to the cash. So they're trying to make it more relevant for the teams that don't feel it is.

The lack of televised thing is hard since none of MLS national broadcasts have jurisdiction on the rights--since it's USSF property, technically. It's annoyingly complicated and it takes viewing away from the fans......sucky.

Forgot about the first part, that makes more sense, thanks for reminding me.

As for the 2nd, are Fire USOC games streamed on the Fire's website or no?

All of the games have been streamed on either the Fire's site or the competition they've played against.

Alright, depending on how well the stream works, I'll be watching the Augsut 30th game then.

August 30th is a home game. Possible the last home game of this run (unless they bid HUGE for the final)......you should just go to the stadium for this one and not watch it.

I'll try to... hopefully I can make it. The people I normally get a ride and a free ticket from usually don't have USOC tickets because they don't come with the season tickets.

As an update on this, and in case you (or they) haven't heard, the Fire are switching the playoff game ticket to be the semi-final ticket for the USOC--as the playoffs are looking further and further, but the prospects for a 5th Open Cup title is ON!

All Season Ticket Holders can use that ticket from their ticket package for the game on the 30th!
