EA and NFL sign another contract

Bad news, sports fans: according to a report on Sports Business Journal, the NFL and Electronic Arts have signed a new deal, extending the publisher's monopoly over home console NFL games until at least 2013.

What's more, EA got the new deal at a reduced price, able to work out with the NFL that with the upcoming football season threatened by a lock-out, the rights for 2011 weren't worth as much as they used to be.

Sigh..I was hoping 2k would get into this business and give Madden a run for the money. The exclusive bullshit is simply anti-Capitalistic.

Personally I think its wrong that any company can do this. It sucks so bad. Competition makes everything better.

I don't have a problem with Madden, but it needs a competitor.

As a madden player, I hate this. Also maybe a little bit of foreshadowing in the lockout situation?

This is pretty low for an exclusive contract, maybe they feel like we won't be watching football next year?
