The last time I actually read an instruction manual was for Paper Mario on the N64. Heck most manuals now days are only a few pages.

i dont even consider them manuals anymore...more like pamphlets now a days. Plus it saves EA money from having them made and waste up space

Hmm...Going green and cost effective, right? So, it wouldn't be outlandish of me to expect the savings passed along to the consumer, right? Right, EA? Silly of me to consider such a thing? :slap:

 Sure, it's a grand idea, but how much ya think they increased their profit margin that *could* have been passed along to the consumer?

The gaming world has become one of the juggernauts of profit. They are making so much money it is insane.

They already don't make manuals. Like 85Bears said, they're merely pamphlets.

Agreed. "Going green" is nothing more than a guise. It's really just a way for them to be greedy and maximize their profit margins as much as possible. I've always enjoyed game manuals, but it seems like a perk nowadays to open up a new game and find one inside.

They were only good if you wanted to know the more complexed controls or a reference spot as early games didnt have that in the game either thru options or game progression like Splinter Cell to teach you. They never actually had any significance after that though. Some had simple tips, but when game guides busted onto the scene that blew open everything to exploit in the game, they became obsolete. But its a ruse to pocket more money and keep games at 60 bucks.

Yeah, I guess the in-game progression is a good point. But then there's some games like NHL 10 where you have all different types of dekes and shit you can do but they aren't in the manual or in the game so you're left hoping that someone has posted a video of it somewhere on YouTube. I have other examples but that's the only one I can think of right now.

Hey, who can blame them. It's a business, and profit is king... I have no major qualms w/ them bumping their profits, providing they don't actually RAISE the prices of their games.

Hell, I buy 90% of my games from gamestop 3 months after they're released anyway and get 'em @ 1/3 of the price.

I don't use them,I really don't think people use them that much anymore. Like Jysen said only if you needed to use it for more complex controls would I maybe ever use it but I don't really even do that anymore. I just figure it out by playing the game or asking others or looking it up online if I ever needed to know something.
