Does any one use or know anyone who uses these things?
Do they curb the urge to smoke?
For frequent bar-goers, has anyone seen them in use indoors?
Has anyone seen signs prohibiting their use in establishments?

A relative of mine is thinking of getting one of those big ass ones where you add the liquid and try to ween themselves off of cigs... anyone have any success with it?
I tried one, and I can smoke a cigarette without issue, and I almost died... took a cigarette sized puff and it was like inhaling an entire pack.

so- any users? any intel or opinions would be helpful.

So if your craving is at a 10 before hitting it, what is it after?

I use them and have tested a bunch of different devices. Actually launching an ecommerce site selling them later this month too.

I have seen an article where they are getting banned in establishments. I don't smoke though, so I don't really care.

Been vaping for 5 years. I recently quit, then I started up again. Quitting nicotine is a *****, but at least I cut down significantly. I vape the equivalent of about 5 cigs a week, and I used to be a two pack a day smoker.

Just avoid the ones that try to look like actual cigarettes. Small ass battery, pure garbage with a very small success rate. They are so cheap to make, that you see tons of sites pawning them off like the old cialis/viagra spam trying to make a buck off suckers. But if you get a good PV, then it makes it a hell of a lot easier.

Vaping is better than smoking, and no, I don't mean from any form of health perspective. The nicotine delivery is way better(unless you buy those ones that you find at gas stations and mall kiosks that are the size of regular cigs, regardless if they cost a ton and claim to be the best). And if you just have the physical habit, you can vape no-nicotine flavors as well.

I always suggest someone start with a mechanical mod of some sort with a 16650 battery as a minimum, or a smarter buy is an 18650 battery(most common lithium battery in the world, used in flashlights, cameras, electric cars, laptops and of course vaping gear). The cost per battery is between $6-13 depending on what you get, and if it has NCR cells, it will hold a charge for about 10 years. A mechanical mod means it just uses contacts, no electronics in between to break, so that will also last for as long as you care for it. A starter mechanical mod kit would run you from $40-200, and the $40 ones are almost as good as the fancy ones for basic use. Juice is about $7-14 for 30ml bottle, depending on where you buy from. You can buy super cheap crap for $3 for a 30ml bottle(pretty much what the gas station brands use and suck). I pay about $8 a 30ml bottle.

Also, I always suggest someone use at least 18mg strength if they are a "lights" smoker or lower, and use a 24mg nicotine for reds and full flavor, just to start.

Agreed Crys - Although those "cig like" devices still are the huge part of the market, the better made / larger devices are much much better (high quality, variable voltage etc). I've used a few that I really like. Kangertech is making some nice stuff right now...nice blend of semi-portability with pretty high build quality (if it isn't a knock off). I also have a itazte vtr....really nice device, but thing weights like 5 pounds, lol.

The cig like devices are e-junk. Just waiting to go to a landfil near you sometime soon, or in the middle of the pacific ocean with flight 370. Nothing will convince me they are worth any time or effort. We have a very good local vape shop here, and the owner and I get along. He's constantly letting me try the latest and greatest. And IMO, nothing has really gotten much better for the cig-like units since the enhanced 808s came out(which are okay, but you're still stuck with an 808 atty).

Aren't those itaze vtrs tanked? Those are heavy. IDK much about brands, just the common electrical components. I vape on "garage door openers" since I just make my own. Still using 306LR attys, as I like to change flavors a lot. I have a few tanks and rebuilables though, not a carto person. My girlfriend switches between cartos and attys, and IDK how she does it.

And BTW nvan. If you're doing a store, my vape shop sells 30ml house juice for $12+, and people are more than happy paying that much. Has an online shop too, goodejuice.com I believe. His prices are outrageous, but I really love that it's a local store, so I try to stop in and support him. He's getting very nervous though since regulatory crackdowns are coming. A damn shame, because even though it's not something that is healthy, it's still way better than smoking cigarettes(especially if you don't buy dekang china juices with god knows what in it, and stick to natural extracts for flavoring.) You would have no issue charging high prices and staying in business.

And because I'm obviously a post whore. Just some numbers. I bought cartons online(before the ban) to save money, and used to spend about $80 a month on cigarettes and about $4 on lighters(plus vacuuming the car more often, cleaning my already clean clothes to get smoke stank out, occasional ashtray purchases, and the occasional replacement of some electronic component that broke from all of the tar buildup).

At my peak of vaping, I spend $16 a month after the initial investment of buying/building the device(my first mod cost me $25 to make).

Vape pens and other electronic devices are quite the annoyance here in Colorado, especially if you're an employer. Is it Nicotine or is it hash oil?

Gonna be an interesting year...

I really appreciate the knowledge base here.

You two experts.... the only real direction I had was stay away from the vegetable oil based liquids..... since you guys are so well versed, why would someone be of that opinion? And do you find any validity to the opinion? or is the guy just weird?

Again, thank you.

It is a nightmare. I have 100 employees, give or take, and 80 are under the age of 30. I'm about to ban all electronic smoking devices inside the four walls of the restaurant in relation to the guests. Since we cannot tell if there is weed or nicotine present, having a guest partake in a controlled substance can possibly violate our liquor license. Cannot **** around with the state.

In regards to our employees, so help me god. I am printing off pictures of MJ edibles and brand name packaging for my managment team. Between the edibles, and these vape pens, its so easy for employees to work stoned. It's frightening.

Is there a anti-drug policy in place for your company?
Given the OSHA regs for a safe work environment, cant you test and discipline in accordance with that?

One of my guys went to amsterdam... had been looking forward to it for years. At his request, I approached HR and asked what the rules are governing drug tests and his situation.
The reply was an ironclad confirmation that the rules are the rules. If he ingests and tests positive for a substance that we test for without a prescription, he will be disciplined regardless of whether or not the substance was purchased legally in another country.

Is there any legal wrangling about that in your state?
