Over a number of albums Taupin wrote western and southern themed lyrics that amazed me. He was English but had an incredible feel for our country. The entire Tumleweed and most of Madmen is a story of the south and west

People should listen to Indian Sunset if they want to hear the perspective of the American Indian. It's a very cool song topic wise but one of the few songs with no melody
