Erick Dampier possibly to be waived

-- Again this is one more indication the Bobcats will eventually waive Erick Dampier's contract to off-load about $13 million in salary responsibility. Sorry if that ticks some of you off (I know you want Dampier to be a trade chip), and they certainly gave up an asset in Tyson Chandler.

I'd be open but see little need after signing Kurt Thomas and having Asik on the bench. We just wont have the playing time for all these guys.

Guys are going to get injured, and Dampier is not a bad deal at all, for a filler 4/5. I dont think he's looking for 20 minutes per game, but he could do it for stretches in the season.

I wouldn't mind this at all.

if you can get him cheap you got to do it. the two holes on this team are another shooter and someone to match up with dwight and bang. that's damp.

I'd love DAmpier on a minimum deal.

The only big man on our roster who's not a massive injury risk is Kurt Thomas who's older than dirt and not a big minute player at this point in his career.

Even without injuries, the only three big men on the roster you can trust are Boozer, Noah, and Gibson. Dampier would make an excellent 4th big man in case Asik is completely junk and Thomas proves too old.

that's one reason why i like damp. he is a big body that can bang with the other bigs like Howard Bogut etc.

Damp would be a nice back up. I wouldn't count on Kurt Thomas all that much. I think he is just a mentor and insurance policy at this point.
