They are ranked 9th. You probobly agree but this future rankings stuff is total bullshit. Obviously no one knows what we are going to in the future. Also, the rankings are Special person, Portland is 3rd and the Jazz are like 6th. Portland has a nice young nucleus but their future star is a BUST! Portland is what they are and wont get any better. How are they ranked higher than us, who have cap space for a max free agent! Or how are they higher than the Jazz, who are the 3rd best team in the West right now and have the Knicks pick!?!?!? If you ask me, if I could get any franchise right now, its the Jazz.

There ranked higher than us because if we don't get one of the big three we're screwed. With our owner being cheap we won't be able to improve the team

If Oden is healthy, Portland has a nice duo with him and Roy.

oden is really just a defensive center. i dont think he's asked to do much more than that. in 5-6 years, he'll be slightly better offensively, but portland is a damn good team when healthy. roy, aldridge, and oden is pretty good. fernandez, webster, and bayless are nice pieces to offer in a trade. they have good role players and an endless supply of draft picks. their owner seems able to better handle spending a crap ton of money on the team.

I agree the jazz will be better next year provied they improve their wing situation through the draft, but they've invest serious cap in their bigs and kirelenko and williams. they're not getting better through free agency. they might be able to get something for ak's expiring. Also how much longer do you expect sloan to keep coaching.

derrick rose is phenomenal. i pick him to be a d-wade like player. if we can fill this team with shooters and get a pf, we have a really good chance at being great.

It's pretty bold comparision since Rose hasn't show the ability to get to line alot while that's what Wade is best at. I see Rose as Tony Parker probably just below the top 10

But that´s not Rose´s fault. The damn refs just don´t make the calls.

Rose said recently that he will start to argue with the refs more.

Derrick Rose said:
“I don’t know what I’ve got to do to get a call,” Rose offered in a rare bout of open post game frustration. “I don’t know if I’m being too physical or whatever. I’m just going to go in and start making them make the call. Go in and go crazy like some of those other players in the league and hopefully they call it.

“You’ll see,” Rose promised. “Definitely, next game.”

when did he say that? like the last game? the beginning of the season? r

rose has made strides in every category, if he continues to improve at this pace, i have the utmost confidence in rose.

rose is bigger than parker. his jumper is far better than parkers at this point in his career. Wade is phenomenal offensively ( maybe i did set the bar rather high with the second best player in the league). He also has far better defensive instincts than rose, but rose might be able to improve those with practice. If he can extend his range to the 3pt line, rose might be in the conversation for the best pg in the east. (in spite of the fact that he's not the traditional pg, he already is in the convo now).

Rose said this right before the Mavs game. Unfortunately I couldn´t watch this game. Did Rose start to argue?

He can say all he wants, but he doesn't dive into defenders. He avoids it so he can make the tough play

you know, so far, he has proven that he is not immune to injury. Lebron james is almost immune to all injury. D-rose has been battling injuries this year. Also our entire offense is built around him.

Contrary to popular wisdom, maybe it would be best if he didn't encourage him to play like either manu or wade. He's getting fouled right now, maybe we ought to pester refs as more viable alternative.

9th sounds a pretty fair balance. Out upside if we get one of the big FAs is obviously higher, but if we don't then 9th is probably a little generous.

Oden is a total bust. After being highly touted from HS to Ohio State to the Pros, being called the "Next Great Big Man", he has proven to be the "Next Sam Bowie". Everyone joked about it when he came into the league, & with every season it's becoming more & more of a reality. This kid will never stay healthy enough to have the sort of impact that Portland was seeking when they passed up on Durant, who will surpass Kobe next season as the second best perimeter player. He's already had 3 major knee injuries in his first 3 seasons & I expect more of the same for the remainder of his career. The guy just isn't built well.

As for the Jazz, I expect Sloan to keep coaching until he can't see anymore, or starts having serious health problems like Hubie Brown did. Expect Sloan to coach the team for the next 5 seasons atleast & with that you can pretty much guarantee them a spot in the playoffs every year.

Since January, he's been driving into contact alot more. The problem I see is he's so strong that he's very good at absorbing contact without his shot being affected that much. Not to mention his body contortions when he drives are extremely wild which makes it tough tell if he's getting hit or not. But he is getting hit alot & he's not getting calls alot of calls. He's getting more than he did at the beginning of the year but still not nearly enough.

Even if he makes the baskets. A foul is a foul. Point!
