The Austin American-Statesman reports: Former Bears running back Cedric Benson wasarrested and charged with assault with injury early Tuesday after anincident last month at an Austin bar, whereofficials said he punched an employee in the face.

Benson hadbeen involved in a May 30 altercation and was beingescorted out when he punched an employee, according to an arrestaffidavit. Benson, a former Texas star who now plays for the Cincinnati Bengals, posted bail and was released from jail, according to jail records and officials.

In 2008, Benson was arrested for two alcohol-related incidents, buta grand jury in Texas declined to indict him and charges weredropped.

I asked my bro-in-law his thoughts on the issue, as he's a BIG Bengals fan...

His response summed up his frustration with the normalcy of this occurrence for Bengals Fans: "We were due."
