If Love, Sloan and Norm made it to that finals in 75, then I think 2 would be in the rafters. Say what you want about Rodman's role in the 2nd 3-peat, but those rings do hold a lot of value in terms of team criteria for retiring numbers.
Dennis Johnson would not be retired in Chicago with our extreme standards.
91 and 2 should be in the rafters, along with a coaches banner for Motta.
Rodman was here for 3 years, 1 year he was practically sleep walking and more concerned with wrestling than basketball it seemed. He definitely is not eligible. He is barely eligible for the Hall of Fame. He never went to an allstar game, was all defensive with the Bulls only once...his resume is not good enough.
Norm Van Lier is a 3x allstar with the Bulls, a 7x all league defensive player...Rodman's resume pales in comparison. If you retire Rodman, you have to retire Horace Grant's number also, as he accomplished more than Rodman did as a Bull in league-wide recognition.
And again, Artis Gilmore should have his number retired before Rodman also...5x allstar? Rodman deserves to have his number retired by the Pistons...and that will happen.
Norm and maybe Gilmore are the only players deserving to have their numbers retired by the Bulls.
