I need an opinion on the top OT in this years draft, so I figured I would ask the doctors or rich guys that likely are golf buddies with doctors like @iueyedoc @truthbedamned etc...

The guy is easily a top 5 pick and since he is an OT and not RB, it's not very likely that his career is over or will even be dramatically affected just because he tore his ACL in October.

Scroll to about the 4:15 min mark to see exactly where he was injured (despite wearing those clunky knee braces...)

My thought is that since Braxton is on the team already, even if the Bears wanted to really bring him along slowly they could. I also don't think a top agent like Drew Rosenhaus takes him as a new client if the knee injury was somehow career threatening.

Well medical experts (and their friends), what do you think? Is the guy undraftable in the first round or is he a legit option for the Bears as long as his medical records and combine testing is clear??

I read on Twitter that Methelyne Blue will fix him right up.

I am not a doc, but I have dealt with the rehab of such injuries. If there is no other damage to the knee, the player should be able to regain their prior form. Rob Gronkowski and Tom Brady both tore their ACL and continued their wildly successful careers. The only issue is it does take some time to get all of the power and speed back after rehab...

If he wasn’t injured before that play, that is the absolute weakest way to see someone tear an acl, jimmy g going out of bounds esque

IF His medicals clear, he most likely will be gone before 10, so you might have to trade up

The ACL does not need contact or even a severe move to tear. These athletes are so strong, there can be ridiculous amounts of pressure on a joint. Muscle imbalances, fatigue, even a quick flex of the quads can injure the ACL.

Poles doesn't have a history of drafting players with major injuries. Kelvin Banks Jr. makes more sense to me. He can kick inside to guard for now, and if Braxton Jones doesn’t work out, he can kick back outside.

Yes if they are weak AF or if the acl was damaged in a previous game or practice

Tom Brady was contact related I believe multiple times and I believe the same for gronk. There is a big difference between having a contact vs non contact injury

I agree however I'm not nearly as sold on KBJ as I am on Simmons. In fact after watching Banks getting wrecked against Georgia, I probably have to accept that Will Campbell is a safer option despite his short arms.

Banks would be a great choice, but there might be questions whether he can play tackle in the NFL, will no more after the combines arm measurements, Simmons is a sure fire OT, injury concerns are the only question with him

I am saying that there is no way in hell that Poles spends that first pick on a guy that you're not sure will be there for training camp. He's going to be scared off based on what happened with Kiran.

Shit. I forgot about Kiran, but wasn't that just a favor to Eberflus's golf buddy? Can't hold that against Joshua Simmons.... right?
