At work when we talk about if we ever won a huge lottery.... me and a co-worker always say we would start our own company and make one of the game ideas I have rattling around in my brain lol.

There are some good games that come out of people who do it because they love it rather than for profit like EA Games or some of the other big game developers.

One thing I want to bring up is these guys are pretty objective. The writer has been around the block in game design. Of all the videos they've done they've only bashed the living shit out of one game (and for good reason) which was Call of Juarez: The Cartel.

Also these were the guys that did the Punic Wars videos for Rome II (for the Rome II players on these boards)

Total War games are sort of 2 games in one.... turn based Campaign and then RTS battles you fight with some set of troops/armies. It is not like an RTS where you build stuff and build troops its just a real time battle between the opposing forces.

I have purchased and owned every single game in the series up to Rome II....

I know what you mean.... I think they will do a Medieval III or something like it in the future.... they will call it something else to try and say they are not making a Medieval III but they will.

It will be like Europe Total War and then its set at the same time as Medieval lol

Also, really like how they look at games as more than kid toys.

Yeah Dark Ages came to mind for me as well... it could start in Dark Ages and progress all the way to Medieval.

I could also see them doing something bigger and more ambitious like a Total War where it starts in say Dark Ages and runs all the way up to say the 1800s Industrial Revolution time period.

Something where you have to develop everything over the course of the campaign.... and all along the way research new military tech.... deal with new ideologies.... transform your government.... deal with possibly many civil wars or revolutions.

It would be bigger and far more ambitious than anything they have ever done but I could see them trying it.... they have basically attempted to master each time period from ancient Rome to Medieval to the time of Napoleon and the American Revolution.

Maybe Civilization Total War or World Total War or something....

Crusader Kings II it is probably the easiest to learn. Paradox games are super difficult to learn. Massive learning curve on these games. I know how to play Crusader Kings II, Victoria II, and Europa Universalis IV. Hearts of Iron is probably the hardest to learn. If you get one of them and need help or advice hit me up, especially on CK2 I have over 1000 hours played.
