What I hate about the new facebook isn't its layout (because that looks basically exactly the same). It is those stupid "lists" with every single HS, College, Workplace, and City you've ever gone to/worked/live in... that cannot be deleted and are public settings.
Google+ will probably never be as big as facebook because facebook already had its head start at the mainstream social networking game. About 750,000,000 (roughly 10% of people in the world) already have a facebook profile... and the vast majority of them login at least every two days.
