Pappa is all instinct and no soccer brain. While he has been a Fire fan favourite (not mine at all), he's quickly falling from grace since he hasn't scored and doesn't know when to pass (hogs the ball) and takes shots that are rushed and he has no business taking. It's really too bad. If he opened up and played with more of a 'team' mindset the euro clubs would come calling.

The Twente thing was simply this: Twente was looking to sell Brian Ruiz--Tottenham had been looking at Ruiz--Twente was preparing some cheap alternatives to Ruiz--it is/was rumoured that Pappa was the intended target of that interest--Tottenham wasn't sold on the player at the cost after Redknapp saw him play in a Champs league qualifier and passed--Twente had no more need to carry interest in Pappa at this point.

Both the Fire and the player denied resports and said flatly that there was no actual contact between anyone on either side of the Atlantic with regards to Pappa going to Twente.

end of story for now.

So basically the deal didn't fall through, it simply never existed...

It may or may not have existed but if Brian Ruiz went to Spurs (or some other club), there would have been a much better chance of this story having merit.

funny thing about footy....there are somethings that are just rumours and some things that are deals that could have been. But NOTHING is ever official until it's on both club's websites.

This from his Facebook page which was just posted:

Marco Pappa
Casi cerrado el traspaso al twente!! holandes!!

But nothing is final until it's on either team's website.
