Bill Wade. Little did I realize at the time that he would become the original prototype for the "ideal" Bears quarterback -- An "ideal" that has lasted the better part of 60 years.
It's a model that I'm hoping Justin Fields finally shatters. Fingers crossed.????

Ahmad Merritt is my uncle. Went to watch him return kicks during the 2002 season at Memorial Stadium in Champaign, IL. It was the year they renovated Soldier Field. He took me and a friend into the locker room after the game. Campus security was letting anybody through in those days. No credentials needed. Met Urlacher and the coaches. Fun times for a high school kid.
