Okay, fellas, looking for three killer restaurant recommendations. I'll read at least 10 top 10 lists in the next couple of months and no doubt review 40-50 menus, but I want to hear it from the guys who live or have lived there.

Looking for your favorite spot for:

Italian
Steakhouse
Off the rails funky

Backstory: It is my turn to take my brothers back to Chicago where they grew up until age 12. Whole weekend on me. We got the Cubs (I've never been to Wrigley) playing the Giants, followed by the beloved hosting the 49ers. I want to go big. Even got front row tickets for the Bears game. Any help is appreciated. We'll have a car so CAN travel around the Chicagoland area if need be.

Texas de Brazil in shchaumburg is a pretty good Brazilian steakhouse where you can put yourself in a food coma via all you can eat.

They call themselves upscale, but I think it falls just a touch short of upscale.
But, the Neverending meat options they bring to the table make up for that in volume and variety.

Straight shot down 90 if you aren't familiar- but you probably remember where Woodfield is.

Ty for the suggestions so far! I must step in and say I don't necessarily mean white gloves and linens. We just want badass food/experiences. Any of your favorites plz share them.

The brazilian steakhouse is fun as hell, fairly unique and I do like being able to graze everything.

I dont know if you are in to polish food, but Bacowka has some pretty damn fine authentic polish dining.
(although I am sure you can throw a rock without looking in chicago and hit a very good polish restaraunt)

Frankie's Ristorante in Tinley Park is some top notch Italian.

Smaller place, but you can get reservations there on OpenTable last I checked.

They survived covid and I am damned glad.

I've done all those type steakhouses (Rodizio, Fogo, Texas) and I love them. That Polish place sounds great since we're all a little polish. Def interested in that. Thank you.

I recently finally tried that place out and it's spectacular. The entire West Loop area is becoming the place to go for great food in Chicago and it's not far from downtown at all.

That said, the West Loop has my pick for Italian in 'Piccolo Sogno'. Amazing menu with an amazing outdoor patio since it is finally good weather season here.

Pretty pricey, but the thread title is 'Fine Dining'.

Do some homework on the West Loop to see if anything catches your fancy and ignore all these people trying to send you out to the suburbs. They may be good places to eat, but with the price of gas these days...why do you want to drive 30 miles out your way for dinner???

Italian Piccolo Sogno, Montverde, and Langhe
Steak House: Maple and Ash
I also like the Green Street rec for something funky. I would put Lula Cafe on that list, too.
Au Cheval and Purple Pig are both solid.
Higher up the expense ladder: Sepia, Boka, Oriole

Edit: Momotaro for Japanese.
