I'm going camping later this week and I thought I would buy firewood to bring with us because it's expensive at the campground.

I was planning on grabbing some at a gas station, but I checked yesterday and it was $6.99 for a very small bundle! **** that.

Anyone know where I can get some cheap?

I just need enough to fill something the size of a recycle bin.

Are you being punished or something?

Nah, no punishment.

Me and my wife both like camping but we don't go too often.

This time we are bringing our niece and nephew ages 9 and 12 for their first camping trip.

It looks like rain in Thursday which is when we leave so that might be punishment.

Yeah...the Pacific NW has it cheap...but good luck since shipping would bring the cost of it back up to around $7

I never have room to bring wood with me so I always have to buy it on site or near the campsite.

I hate that I don't even have room to bring my guitar.

Check the campsite rules. Some wont let you bring in foreign firewood.

Just grab some palets from the back of the grocery stores. Shit goes up real good.

Tires also work well you can find many at the dump.

You are welcome Jako.

Play safe.

Don't you dare take fucking wood to a foreign location! I've killed men for less.

Because of those bugs that are killing trees?

Pine beetles. They are a huge problem out here, especially west of us. You see forests by the highway with a bunch of brown trees.

Don't burn any "treated" lumber scraps in your campfire. CCA pressure treated wood releases arsenic when burned. I'd also be hesitant to burn old painted/varnished/stained furniture wood.

I got some old fireword from my boss so I'm all set.

I called the campground (Rock Cut) and they said it's O.K. to bring firewood but only what you will use.

You can't leave any there or take any home so I'm all legal-like.
