Tis' the season to light fuses....falalalala. I wanted to share this with everyone, even though it's a bit early. One of my hobbies has always been pyrotechnics, but this club takes it to an entirely new level. Most if not all of these mine and aerial shells were made by members as opposed to the upcoming public displays that are purchased from China. You will never see anything like this unless you attend a PGI event, which just so happens to be upcoming this August at the Laporte, IND county fair grounds.

John Adams wrote his wife, Abigail, on July 3, 1776 saying that "the day will be the most memorable in the history of America.

"I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival . . . it ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade . . . bonfires and illuminations (fireworks) from one end of this continent to the other, from this day forward forevermore."

Wisconsin, Missouri, Indiana, and Michigan all allow it...only bordering state that doesn't is Iowa. The laws are all screwed-up b/c in Pennsylvania you can come in from out of state like IND and purchase, but if you're a legal resident in Pennsylvania they cannot sell you anything. So the Pennsylvania residents drive to Ohio for their shit. In Florida anyone can purchase but the law says...and get this...they must be used for agricultural purposes to scare birds away and such.

It's actually on the form you sign, yet I used to do shoots 3 blocks from the Ft. Lauderdale PD...and they didn't care.

There were 144 injuries and 2 deaths in Illinois last year, the 2 deaths were a result of unlicensed idiots mishandling B class shells and rest had no business buying fireworks.

Three keys to not getting caught:

1. Don't go right before the 4th.
2. Don't go to the first place over the state line.
3. Don't come back the same way you came.

Actually, I forgot to add the last portion of Pennsylvania law, if you are a resident there you can only purchase with a shooting permit issued by local town etc.. Not sure on the Indiana law, but it's probably the same as FL...just not really enforced like they do here:

Here in the shithole I call Elgin, cops just confiscate them and probably take home. I have an empty lot across the street I use for shoots, everything is time fused and glued down to a sheet of plywood. This serves 2 purposes, I can light 1 fuse, sit on my front porch, and not get caught.

Indiana does tax fireworks, it's an extra 4% on top of the normal 7 that goes to training firefighters.

Raises hand, I don't care much for making flash powder but I do it anyways. When I do, it's contained immediately and leftovers disposed of...this isn't stuff you just leave laying around the house. About an hour ago I detonated one of these, the fuse is 1/4" premium time and burns precisely at a 3 sec/inch rate. Let's put it this way, I was half a block away and felt the air displacement from inside the car.

There's an old saying about fuse, better a foot too long than an inch too short...lol.

I'll assume I'm the only one here spending an entire day in the basement fusing together 20 different multi-shot aerials.

Yeah, I'm a pyro.

Happy 4th!

TBlow retweeted this from the Fourth Period:
So Parise's going to head home tomorrow morning, discuss with his wifey, and should make decision then. Chicago's late push changed game.

Fusing together pre-made stuff is easy, making flash powder is where the risk lies.

See that shit, all he did was put 1 lb. in a bag...that's uncontained.

Think I'll drop a bag off on FT's front lawn...:yep:
