Wife and I are visiting Chicago and have tickets for the outfield. The game is at 1:20p and the seller said they are VIP which allows us to enter at 11:15a. Is it necessary to go that early to get good seats? How quickly do they fill up?

Go as early as you can. What would you do elsewhere at that time that's better than getting in and getting seated in the bleachers?

Bleachers are general seating, so the best go quick.

That morning we were going to sleep in and walk the Magnificent Mile. We could wake up early or not go. Just wondering if we should rush or not. Are there just bad seats left 30 min - 1 hr before first pitch?

Also, I'm reading they are allowing bleacher ticket holders to walk around the seating bowl concourse, is that true? I had always heard they were separate. In that case, we could get there early, watch batting practice, and walk around in the mean time. Granted if someone is nice enough to save our seats. :)

I'm not sure you get to see the Cubs batting practice. Seats in the bleachers went fast when the team was struggling. It's going to be even more crazy now.

Went last night, bleachers were jammed...

Showing up 30 mins to an hour before you might be standing at the top..

Id take advantage of the VIP and get in before the regular crowd can and claim your seats. ...

Thanks all for the help. Is there a line for VIP or showing up at 11:10-11:15a is ok?

Fans with bleacher seating can be scanned in to the main concourse for concessions, and could watch BP if they want. Main seating can not enter the bleacher area at all. Be sure to bring your ticket when traveling through to different seating areas because they will scan you both out and back in.
