My 3rd year as a football coach has gotten off on the wrong foot. JV lost 41-24. I was kind of depressed after being asked to jot down some plays and stats for the 1st half of the JV game. I has scouted our opponent a week earlier in which they got the "Ground and Pound" treatment but they gave out several different looks than what I saw. They scored on 4 of their first 5 drives and we were down 28-0 at the half. Nobody has any idea how pissed I was at the way we were playing. We had drives on offense that started off good but one mistake and the whole game plan went to high hell. 2nd Half I was asked to be on the sidelines and wouldn't you know that I was screaming until my voice was hoarse every play to try to motivate the kids. They certainly responded from the energy I was trying to feed them, even though we lost the game took the 2nd half 23-14.

It was a moral victory for us but varsity was a completely different story. Our QB forced two passes that were picked off with one of them going back for six but also we forced two turnovers on defense and many thought it was gonna be one of those sloppy week one games since it was 7-0 after 1. Then on their 1st drive in the 2nd quarter began a slaughter of vertical and out routes with screens in between and they were up 28-0 at the half much like the JV game. However, the punishment continued to pour on without remorse. So much so, that I think this picture will describe how the ass kicking we got was like

Sorry for the beatings, but I laughed out loud at that picture. But then I'm a bad person...just think about how happy the kids/coaches on the other teams are, that should help.
