The last couple weeks, I have been eating big tupperware things of pineapple in the afternoon after my customary kale and carrots. On my way home , my mouth stung and I was like okay, maybe too much pineapple. Then the last couple days, my lips started bleeding.
Turns out pineapple has a meat- and flesh-tenderizing enzyme called bromelain.
So, as with all things, exercise moderation when eating pineapple unless you like bleeding lips (your own, not a laday's)
