Fog machine advice

I'm building a fog chiller. I want something that throws out a ton of ground fog for a Halloween party. My current plan is based on stuff that I found on the internet...get a trash can, cut two 4 inch holes in the bottom of it, put dryer vent hose coiled inside with each end lined up with the hose, pack ice around the vent hose, and then shoot fog through one end and it comes out on the other.

The problem is my fog machine has a remote and you have to push a button to make the fog come out. Can I just clamp down the button for continuous fog, or will that start a fire?

Are you going to be using this just for halftime jam sessions or continuously for the whole game? I think having it fogging for 4 hours straight might limit the lifespan of your machine.
